[EPL Week 1] Chelsea vs Manchester United [P + R]

FT

Chelsea 1 - 0 Manchester United

Niether side looked very impresive.

A draw would have been more fair.

United dominated possession for the first 15 minute and then Chelsea got their goal, which was definately preventable. Fortune mis-timed the bounce on the ball which lead to a Chelsea counter-attack, and Howard could've done better instead of jumping out of the way of Eidur Gudjohnsen but nevermind. Glenn Hoddle thought United were the better side in the first-half. Chelsea didn't have many good chances other than that one error by United, which cost us the game.

We dominated Chelsea completely in the second half but we hardly created any chances, other than the cross from Smith, which was headed wide by Ryan Giggs on the 80th minute, but other than that. One thing I was impressed about Chelsea's game was the defending, you have to admit they were brilliant at the back, and I wouldn't be surprised if the Gallas/Terry partnership will probably keep Carvalho out of the first eleven for some time to come.

I don't think many can disagree that Ruud van Nistelrooy, Cristiano Ronaldo and Louis Saha probably would've pissed all over Chelsea had they been available. The way things are right now, United can only get better and better as players return one by one.

You would have to be thick as shit to write United off after the performance we put in with this understrength Manchester United team. Well done to Chelsea, although you did not deserve the win in my opinion. But Moronio/Maureen will probably be gloating his arse off to the media.

Ray Wilkins thinks United were excellent today, they just didn't have the firepower.

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

Dude, how bad can Forlan get!?

Fortune :kader: :kader:

Keano and Gary we're brilliant, they're the ones who allowed man u to move forward and not get pressured

Great efforts by Smith, Scholesy and Giggs

We dominated posession and had far more attempts on goal... It's sad when u lose unfairly a match

It was Smith that delivered the ball, not Scholes. I'm proud of the performance and not ashamed of the loss. Imagine the damage if we had van Nistelrooy, Saha and co. back. Chelsea's goal was probably due to Howard's weak goalkeeping. If he keeps up like this, Carroll or Ricardo will make a claim for the No. 1 jersey.

For Moronio/Maureen, I'd like to bet against anyone who thinks that he will be popular with opposing fans. He used sneaky and dirty tactics in the match and it was clearly evident. I do have to add from some footages of him, he looked quite arrogant and overconfident at the dugout though.

Congrats to Chelsea though for the win, but they were lucky we didn't peg them back.

Bellion and Forlan are NOT players I want to be relying on to come on to save a game. :kader:

For Forlan, I would want him on to save a game two seasons ago. He was just indecisive and he could as well scored in the 6 yrd box when he came on. As for Bellion, he would be useful for running at defenders and trying to earn penalties. He should get more experience like what Pennant did at Leeds.

i just watch second half life. fortune crossing was (N) even mourinho know fortune have too much space at the left and no body marking his crossing. i should admit chelsea defend was great enough. we are lack of creativity in attacking. keane do well, so that silves. miller not performing. o'shea give all he can. smith hardworking on the field. giggs couldn't find a goal. scholes lack of support. djemba still need improve. forlan once again didn't did anything on the game. neville have some active run on the right.

before this, i hope the game goes draw but just because of a defensive mistake mention by shokz, cost us 3 points. hope fortune work hard on his crossing. with so many chance and spaces. he should done more better.

was fun to see the whole match.
united ,with their weakened squad played way BETTER than Chelsea.
but Chelsea defended well, have to admit.
One mistake by us led to the goal.

Fortune was attacking good, but lacked the end class of crossing good.

I've said it many times and will say it again,Forlan sucks!
he doesn't fit our play,poor 1st touches,giving away possession,he really has a low calibre.

bellion needs to be loaned out somewhere and then he can be a big impact player like pennant.

overall, even despite the loss,i am very much proud of the Man Utd players. They showed nerves of steel.
With the stars back,we'll be bigger and more dangerous than ever.

gotta admit Forlan played pretty bad today (exept when he deaked out those 3 guys in the box only to have the last chelsea player barely touch it out of his feet).

Scholes ......Fortune......just a week performance on ManU.....but i get pissed when ppl start bashing it all of Forlan.

Just dont know whats wrong with him. In Uruguay, hes just begging to be taken to an even better team than United (and dont say that South american teams suck.....Paraguay would demolish Man U 3 or 4-0.....and Brazil? Lets just leave it at that.

This argentinian show revealed yesturday that Fergie wont let Forlan play how he likes. Forlan usually plays full field, Marking, Pressing, Passing (like in Uruguay)......but Fergie plays him TOO forward and actually almost forbids him to mark.....just to stay up as if he was Rud Van.

Dont think the English league style is for him though. Hed be good for Spain or Italy.

As much as i think Alan smith is <<<THE MAN!!>> (hes great). He played pretty horrible today too. No one gave the ball to him OR forlan today!! How are they suposed to score?? Magic!

Still Allan puts balls on the pitch and im glad hes in man U...he deserves it.(H)

EDIT: HEY 400 posts! lol.
