Busst's injury was a long time ago I think medics know how to treat such an injury much better nowadays. I'm sure Eduardo's career isn't over.

I can remember Cisse in 2006 saying he was glad he had an injury like the one he had (ie a clean break) rather than one like Owen. Don't think he'll make as quick a recovery as Cisse (that guy's a freak of nature) but he will in time.

I agree with Easyeasy's assessment of the incident . Taylor will be getting a strong ban but that is all.

It's true that physically he'll probably be able to play again, but he now has a large psychological barrier to overcome.

Grimace or smile

Personally would like to believe that is a grimace on Taylor's face rather than a smile, with Taylor knowing it is a break.

Seen a few clips of the break, bad tackle certainly can't see Taylor going in deliberately to hurt Eduardo

I dont know, man, for you to hurt somebody like that and not show more concern, is a little cynial for me...the fact that he went in the way he did should be a point of discussion, he should be banned for the rest of the season IMO, I am a defender and sliding into tackles is how I made my living and I can tell you that I never went in to a tackle in that brutal way...studs up foot completelly flushed against the guys ankle which is also the weakest part of the leg....maybe it wasnt intentional to break his leg, but it sure was intentional for him to go in the way he did...he was not trying to get the ball he was trying to break up the play...

best of luck to Eduardo

ouch...now that's what i call hard tackle, i hope he will get better soon

I read on skysports, Wenger already said Martin Taylor's purpose was to harm Eduardo, but McLeish defended him, he's not that type of guy

Damn i won't have another look at those pictures :(

hmmm... Isn't that a TERRIBLE place to break your leg, right where the foot is connected to the ankle, aren't there many many bones there. A clean break like cisse said more high up on the leg would be better.

I think the break is above the ankle. The latest reports on the injury are saying it's a double fracture tibia-fibula.

the FA should ban from football Taylor. fucking bastard

we've been hearing about the FA taking action in order to stop such health threatening tackles... now is the time for a HUGE ban for this Taylor. Intimidation is the better way

Agree entirely. And, i must say, by the looks of things i've seen far more intentional fouls. Ian Wright's on Peter Schmeichel comes to mind.

However, it is an atrocious tackle, and i am in no way defending it.

Good news folks. I'm just reading on Croatian news site that they called Boro Primorac, who confirmed that doctors say it's "only" broken bone and that he may be back after six months.

Well I don't think he was trying to hurt him based on that Taylor isn't known as a dirty player and doesn't get many red cards, but with that said you simply can never tackle on that part of the leg the way he did. You have to keep your studs down and your foot as low to the ground as possible.

I said in the Arsenal thread that this looks a lot like the injury Abou Diaby got two years ago against Sunderland and it took him about a year to recover from that. As some have said it will be harder for him to get back mentally rather than physically.

He should get suspended on the premise that he doesnt know how to play football....you can NEVER!! ever tackle like that, I dont care who you are or what your timing was like, anybody that tackles in that manner was not trying to take the ball, rather they were going for contact and seeking to end the play.....why do you think he winced and never actually went to look at the man's ankle.....he realized he messed up, he felt guilty, not bad, there is a difference...He knew he screwed up and thus his reaction.....Did he mean to hurt the guy as bad as he did? I doubt it, but did he mean to hurt the guy? yes he did, the only thing is that he thought, it wouldnt be that bad.........Just because he is not a dirty player doesnt mean he is not fully gulty of what he did here; He derserves a severe ban, I would put him down for 6 months +

Is there any end to the amount of morons that come to these forums?

KingPaulV....how the fu<k do you know what was in Taylors mind you idiot.

"He felt guilty, not bad"? How the fu<k would you know. You never even heard of Taylor until today.

Emte.....don't be a prat mate.

and that's some great attitude.. true class (Y)

coming to Taylor.. terrible tackles in football, with or without intention, should be taken harshly in my opinion.. although I agree football is a challenging game, some players get it too far, too much.. I dont say "hang him!", but being careless for a moment is not an excuse for getting away with it..
