What a terrible game. I fell asleep during the last 10 minutes.

Colombia deserved to win this game. They missed atleast 3 excellent chances...1 in the first half and atleast 2 in the 2nd half. Terrible finishing is what cost them the points.

Argentina do NOT have a creative MF. They NEED Messi to be a creative MF.....NOT a goal-scorer. He has to create the chances, not finish them, because no one else is able to create ANY chances.

When playing for Argentina, Messi should take on the role of Xavi. He should be the playmaker. There are others who can score goals.....Tevez, Higuain and Aguero. Maybe even consider Di Maria(although I can't stand him). They needa 4-1-2-1-2 system:
GK
4 defenders
DM - Mascherano
RW-LW = maybe Tevez and Di Maria
Creative MF = Messi
FW = Higuain and Aguero

BTW, they should try out soon-to-be former Liverpool superstar Maxi Rodriguez on the RW. He can really do some damage there.

There is no way that Argentina will lose to Costa Rica's "Olympic" squad. Costa Rica, just like Mexico, have not taken their regulars.......Costa Rica won't win. Even a draw is highly unlikely.

Argentina will win that game, but the question becomes can they beat Uruguay, Paraguay or Chile?

really entertaining match between Uruguay and Chile, best of the lot hands down.
1-1 was an acceptable result in the end but Chile showed they have something else, I see them going far in the competition...Alexis was very lively, great goal and mad skillz.

yeah, most entertaining match of the tournament so far ... the draw was fair ...

I thought Uruguay was the better team in the first half -- the 4-3-3, with Álvaro Pereira as a left-sided carillero in midfield, worked really well ... and their high pressure was really telling ... Luisito really should have buried his golden chance with more composure, instead of lasering it off the bar and out ...

but once they took Cavani off and switched to 4-4-2 in the second half, I think they lost a bit of penetration ... they did score, but it was some slack defending from Chile that allowed Suárez to get the ball and create the assist for the goal ...

Alexis took his goal really well with a toe-poke shot ... and if it wasn't for a brilliant diving save from Nene Muslera, he'd have had a match-winning assist too ...

This is pathetic. Mexico with 5 defenders against ******* Peru. I'm better off taking a nap.

I'm just holding out hope Gio pulls a Messi and scores. Otherwise this looks like another boring 0-0 game.

First off, I'm shocked thjat Costa Rica beat Bolivia. I stopped watching after the 1st half because I was convinced that Bolivia was going to win 1-0.

Anywyas, Brazil 2-2 Paraguay. Really diosappointing finish. Paraguay just stood around and let Brazil equalize. They basically lost the game.....Brazil didn't win it. Disappointing ending.

BTW, my favorite team of the tourney is Chile, they play very well together have fluid passing and move the ball quickly. I think they will win the copa

1. Fake.
2. Don't spoil this thread with that worthless content. The games are far more interesting than the same useless material that pops up every time a major tournament rolls around. Just ignore it and focus on the tournament, on the field.

Right. It's not THAT bad. At least this tournament is more entertaining to watch than Liverpool. Nevertheless, it's not THAT hard either.

HALF TIME:
ARgentina 1-0 Costa Rica

Goal came at the end of the 1st half, from a rebound. Aguerro tapped it in.

Argentina has had so many chances though. They have not converted. This goal was quite a luck goal, to be quite honest.

The fans are singing either:
Ole Ole ole ole Diegooooooo Diegoooooooo

OR

Ole Ole ole ole Aguerroooooo Aguerrrooooooo

Final: Argentina 3-0 Costa Rica

From a neutral's point of view, this was a horrible game. Costa Rica was playing for a draw. They didn't do SH*T in the 1st half. In the 2nd half, after falling behind 3-0 they started creating chances towards the end of the game.....why the hell would you wait that long? Seriously! When they attacked, they really should have scored.....there was a header from a corner and the Costa Rica player was wide open on that header. I mean, you know Argentina's got a useless defense.....try and push them sooner rather than later.

In the 2nd half, it seemed like every time an Argentina player got the ball, there was NO Costa Rica player around him......he could stand in one place for 5 seconds before passing the ball. That's BULLSH*T! I don't want to watch that! Even I could look like Maradona if I was given that much time to think. The problem is that Costa Rica wanted a draw, after they fell behind they just gave up and let Argentina walk all over them. They didn't put up a fight at all!

This game was NOT a preview of what Argentina will be facing in the knockout stages.

BTW:
1. Argentina's finishing was HORRIBLE! They missed so many good opportunities. The8r finishing has been very bad throughout this tournament so far.
2. Tevez did not play this game. At the end of the game, Lavezzi came on and the fans were chanting Tevez' name.

I think Falcao and Colombia have a good chance. Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay look much better than Brazil and Argentina as well.

I expected more from Ganso and Neymar, Brazil badly feels a playmaker void, Kaka or even current Ronaldinho could be more useful. Pato, Nilmar and Robinho are competing for the best missed chance of the tournament.

Schedule and timing is very weird.
