That's not a joke.

311, Green Day (twice.... before they dressed like emos), Alkaline Trio, Less than Jake (numerous times), Goldfinger (numerous times), Anti-Flag, Sugarcult, Sum 41, Mest, Bad Religion, New Found Glory, Ringo Starr, Spacehog (haha!)

At a yearly Milwaukee festival that ran in the mid-late 90s...

Beck, No Doubt, Violent Femmes, The Gufs, (just about every alternative band you can think of basically. I can't remember many right now)

At the Vans Warped Tour over two years....

Rancid, NOFX, Yellowcard, Dropkick Murphys, The Suicide Machines (AWESOME), and some of the bands up in the first paragraph I saw here as well.

EDIT: I also saw One Be Lo along with about 125 people at my college's Student Union.

This is going to be a long list.
First concert I've ever been to was by The Cult in 1994. Since then I've been to more than 100 gigs, and I'm not counting my own band's efforts or concerts by garage bands.

Some of them I remember because they were posted here already:
The Offspring
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Green Day
Oasis
Radiohead
QOTSA (2x)
Tool
Muse
Smashing Pumpkins (2x)
R.E.M.
Pearl Jam (2x)
Roots
Less than Jake
Goldfinger
Dropkick Murphys
The Suicide Machines
Beck (2x)
Violent Femmes (4x)
Ice T
Deftones
Placebo (3x)
Mars Volta
Nofx
Pennywise
Arcade Fire
Jon Spencer Blues Explosion
Goldfrapp
James
My Morning Carlos*et
Pixies (2x)
Stone Temple Pilots
The Bloodhound Gang
The Cure
Filter
Sonic Youth
311
Papa Roach

And this is just from the top of my head. I got a box there full of concert tickets and memorabilia I collected at them, such as guitar picks and other stuff.

Emmer, have you been to see rappa? my girl (who's from sp) introduced me to them about a year ago, bought all their albums right away. Was supposed to go see them when I was over there in oct. but it didn't work out. Who knows maybe in the future.

whats the worst warm up band you've seen? or the best?
the worst for me was a band called "Send More Paramedics" who played before the offspring. we were in cologne and they came on stage sayin:
"hello bonn(!!!!!!!!), we are send more paramedics, and we are zombies!"
haha, the entire crowd was shellshocked. they eventually got booed off stage (H)
best warm up band was navel before wolfmother, and alexisonfire before billy talent

I don't understand SG's obsession with Tool. :S

Err......I've seen like 2-3 other posters on SG (other than me) talk about Tool. I'd hardly call it an "SG obsession". :|

But even if there is, it would be because they're some of the most talented (rock) musicians on this planet.

Why feel embarrassed? They're a great band. (Y)
aye, i don't feel really embarrassed, i actually find them one of the greatest hard rock bands ever. it's just that they're far from being my favourite music artist nowadays. and it seems they can't record a great album anymore (such as the rolling stones). even the live ones have been poor.

i'm not a big fan of o rappa, but i like some songs, especially from "lado b lado a", which has some good lyrics (don't know if your girl's translated them for you, heheh). have you watched the "minha alma (a paz que eu não quero)" video? it was directed by kátia lung and paulo lins -- respectively co-director and writer of "city of god". fans of the film may like the video (try to find it on youtube).

i've never seen them live, and probably never will -- i kind of lost interest on the band after ex-drummer and lyricist marcelo yuka left the band.

so you know this awful city where i live in, huh? how was your stay here, tell me more about it!

Aweful city? dude, I'd rate SP as one of the best cities I've ever been to. Obviously it's very different from the European cities I'm used to, very vibrant and the people are great, very friendly (at least the places I've been to). Didn't really go around seeing the typical tourist attractions since I'm not really into that. Instead I just kind did the stuff regular Paulistanos would do I guess...shopping, chilling, drinking and picked up quite a bit of portuguese (obviously she tought me stuff too). It's amazing how quickly you pick things up when you're there :d
Her parents have a house at the beach near Santos so I stayed there too. Great city too with the beach and all that.

Gotta say I really loved SP, especially the general vibe, I could definitely live there. In fact I'm looking into doing some sort of internship at USP...I'll see how that goes.
