Ugh. Well, I'm gonna try and be positive and hope for Mou this summer and that Di Matteo can somehow save this season, but I'm onot sure about either being very realistic. Please not Rafa, though.

Benitez will never sign a 3 month contract which is what Abrahamovich is offering him

Didn't he win the Romanian league with Unirea Urziceni too? That's got to be a pretty big accomplishment.

That too, and that came out of no where. Plus he was a beloved ex Chelsea player. And he's managing Lacina Traore as we speak.

edit:

Apparently Di Matteo is very good friends with Petrescu as well.

AVB is an excellent coach. Brian Clough only last 44 days at Leeds. Managers should be signed basing on his work style or football philosphy and not because they won "x" titles. Chelsea has a problem with Abrahamovic and a virtue in his money.

So Chelsea's players (the old core) are actually trying to go over EVERY manager in the world until the only one left is José? He's gone, douchebags, just play football.

I really hate the fact that we keep bringing in managers for millions and firing them, and I did want AVB to succeed and had faith in the project, but it simply wasn-t happening and people need to stop buying into the narrative the media is creating. AVB had a terrible record at the club, and if it wasn't for his 13m transfer price, he would've been gone a long time ago.

Roman had patience, but he just couldn't blindly have faith in the long term project when the short-term was falling so short. If we don't make the CL next year we could spend the next 5 years in the Europa League, and that's optimism.

We should all cross our fingers and hope that Di Matteo has what it takes to pull a Grant or a Hiddink and keep us respectable, after that, I'd be VERY pleased with Mourinho, but I'm not holding my breath and I feel like I'll be disappointed with whoever we sign.

I have a suspicion that there is already an unspoken agreement between Mourinho and Roman that Jose is coming back in the summer, and that is why Roman wanted to get AVB out the way before the season was over and is only interested in Rafa or Di Matteo on a short term contract.

Pffffft, maybe if a single team got to the quarter finals you could say that. There's parity because the top of the league is weak.

Well what I meant to say was that there's increased competition among a larger number of relatively higher clubs compared to the rest of the EPL. From only seeing Arsenal Chelsea Man U and Liverpool a few years ago, you've now got 6 clubs competing for 4 places, and obviously two teams won't make the UCL at all.

While I'm disappointed that we have to go through all this crap again, I'm not too sad to see the back of AVB.

He seems like a nice chap and has good ideas but game after game of watching Chelsea this season, its evident that he's tactically weak, his man management skills are poor(his handling of Alex and Anelka could've been much much better) and he seems to play certain players even if they perform **** week in week out (Torres, Meireles, Bosingwa, Malouda, and sometimes Sturridge).

If there were any signs of improvement from our performance over the past 3 months I'd like to see where.

Because I thought most of the good results we had, we didn't really put in a convincing performance. Early in the season, I thought we still looked good in attack, but very vulnerable in defence. Since December, we've improved in defence but managed to become clueless in attack and there hasn't been any indication that we could put teams to bed.

There was no longer the feeling that "we're going to win this one" before the game. Even during the worse times under any manager(I'm counting pre-Abramovich as well), we still managed to put in a decent performance in a midst of a bad run of results. But the performances under AVB since December have not only been consistently poor and awful but we've only got 3 wins in 12 games.

I could see that several players lost faith in him(not singling out Lamps who is our top scorer this season), but he should've dealt with it at the start of the season and brought more players that could benefit this so-called project he kept talking about after every single post-match interview.

Well the fact that Mourinho went house searching in London last week certainly helps that theory...

That's interesting.
It makes sense him buying a house if he's gonna return to Chelsea.

If he comes to Chelsea again, it will be awesome.

Lets remember a little with this pic:

Read a rumour that Mourinho wants 12M + Ronaldo from Chelsea. :D
I thought Mourinho and Ronaldo didnt get on?

The press are circulating the rumour that we are targeting Loew, but I think it more likely that Loew will go to Real when Jose leaves.

and the league must be our main goal right now.
who knows how far we will reach in the champions league this season.

so, the best thing to do now, is to secure that spot in the champions league next season.
