www.rojadirecta.com has good ones.

Mikel seems to be gaining a lot of appreciation. Definitely best man out there for us today, and I've always said he was underrated. God, I love this player. I don't think he's stepped up much more now than he did last season, so I dunno why he's getting cheered so much. Anyway, started watching at 15, seems like Lamps missed a pen, he isn't playing that well. Anelka is everywhere, Essien and Mikel are brilliant, Cole hit the crossbar with a would-be goal of the season, and Terry and Malouda with a quick, killer combination for the goal. Good so far.

EDIT: Could I get that link, actually? I always get frustrated at some point in the season because rojadirecta has nothing.

2-0, Drogba pen and Malou.

Ramires' 5-minute debut was low-key, he's smaller than I thought he was. Alex was a joy to behold today. Impenetrable. Terry kept on going despite being injured, Lamps was invisible, everyone else was OK-good. Alex and Mikel standing out, moreso Alex. Mikel and Essien bossed the game, though.

Another clean-sheet, and yet another week where we will be ahead of the pack. Good season so far.

EDIT: Actually, scratch that, Kalou's sub appearance disappointed me. He's still too selfish and makes bad decisions. He had the chance to return the favor for Drogba who came rushing, unmarked, but instead he tried dribbling past two players, astonishingly managed it, but then shot straight at Sorensen. Could be world-class this player, he really could.

It's strange that I'm seeing a lot of Chelsea blogs and stuff thinking Ramires would play holding midfielder. That's simply not his role. The guy is strong in his challenges, disciplined, and can run all day, but he's not the kind of guy that anchors a midfield. His role is on the right side of a diamond; he essentially can cover both central midfield and right wing at the same time because of his energy and stamina. But sitting behind the midfield? He can do it (he was very good for Brazil in the first knockout round in that role I believe), but it's not his normal position.

Di Santo sold to Wigan for 2mil quid. He showed promised when he first came, top scorer for our reserves and had a good start at Blackburn during his loan period.(Faded away badly and didn't recover since).

Its a bit of a shame, but hopefully R.Martinez finds out how to use him effectively.

Cech
Paulo - Iva - Terry - Cole
Essien - Mikel - Ramires
Kalou - Drogba - Anelka

Surprising, I suppose Alex and Malou are given a rest so they can be 100% for the CL tie, they've been brilliant up till now.

Quick goal from a Drogs corner with Essien heading in, and calamity 2nd after Green repeats the U.S calamity and Upson's clearance hitsz Kalou and loops in. We've definitely been better, although they've shown some good moments. I think Iva, Paulo and Mikel (again) have been our better players, we're barely even trying. Mikel is just astonishing lately, he does everything right and loses no balls. It's like watching a very tanned Xavi on steroids (although not much in the final ball department today, with two goals from set-pieces).

Ramires hasn't done anything, other than take too long to shoot in the box once. He's playing like Mikel a lot, getting close to the ball to help keep possession, I was expecting him to take a more attacking role.

Carlo has suggested that Kakuta will play today, we'll see.

3-1, Parker scored an avoidable beauty that means we've unfortunately conceced our first of the season. Essien rose up brilliantly to head in another goal from a brilliant Ferreira cross which he was able to do after Mikel gave him a brilliant pass.

A pretty disappointing performance, very lethargic, never getting into gear. No one did anything really wrong, but no one wowed either. Kakuta got a few minutes, and put in a good cross and pass for Drogs, but didn't show the spark he did at Wolves.

Good to get 3 points, but the performance was really disappointing, honestly. I'm glad that we can beat teams barely breakign a sweat, and I know that we have a midweek tie to think about, but that wasn't a performance any fan should be pleased with.

I have no clue why other teams dont take Chelsea so seriously much
see the same teams playing against United..they'll play as if its a final...
agreed United have an amazing history in the premier league and are a dominant force...
but the current champions are chelsea...and they are enck and neck...or maybe even a bit better than us united at the moment

you just mentioned above tht "m glad that we can beat teams barely breakign a sweat"

and it is a fact..teams dnt up their tempo so much against chelsea..whereas for me...chelsea are too strong no matter who they play with

Yeah, WE don't break a sweat, they certainly do.

Watch the matches, seriously, they've all tried their best and it just wasn't enough.

West Ham, Stoke, Wigan and West Brom so far. Chelsea haven't really been tested yet. All 4 teams are probably gonna be fighting for relegation in May.

West Brom and Wigan definitely. West Ham need to get it together soon or they're gonna be there too. Stoke will be safe, IMO, it's just been a tough start.

The recent, obligatory link of the week is Jesus Navas. The guy can barely stand it being away from Seville, let alone Spain, for more than a few days, why the hell does anyone think he'll come here?

Would be a great addition if he manages to overcome his home-sickness.

But in saying that, I doubt Carlo would bring him in.

3-0 at halftime, we were up by that much at the 30 minute mark. Essien from an Anelka pullback, Anelka from a Malouda lofted pass, and Anelka after Terry hit the bar. We're so calm and in control, that Terry has found himself in the left corner flag once. Everyone's been pretty good, with moments of brilliance for everyone, but again, we're not even trying, and the Slovaks have threatened to take advantage of that. Cech looks to be very much in control, and the defense is solid, although Zhirkov is so much better going forward it's ridiculous. I absolutely LOVE seeing him in the opposition half because he has a fantastic ability to make diagonal runs which are just superb, but defensively he looks like he need to bulk up or something. Actually, no, he just doesn't look like he thinks they're gonna score, so he doesn't go out of his way to get the ball. Not very encouraging from someone who wants to be a regular, and is not the best defensively.

Anyway, typical performance so far, dominating, clinical, barely even trying.
