Face it, the whole team is crap...
esp Ramires..what a waste of a buy, Id put him with the likes of DJemba Djemba :D

That's ridiculous. Ramires is much better. He's receiving so much criticism, did you ever watch him play before he was bought by Chelsea? Did he even had time to adjust to the UK and the Premier League? Let's not forget two years ago he was playing in the Brasileirão, which is the antonymous of the PL in terms of pace and game flow.

The whole team is underperforming which doesn't help him either. Anyone who watched Benfica games last season knows his value, I still remember how everyone was doubting of Di Maria, look how well he is performing in Real Madrid. But then again, Ancelotti is not Mourinho, is he?

I personally don't understand why people are criticizing Ramires. He has done quite well in his first months in the EPL......

If Ramires had shown so much as a glimpse of what's to come or signs of improvement, I would cut him some slack, but his best performance so far has been one in which he simply sucked inconspicuously, and was still the worst man on the field. I'd love for him to prove himself and drive the team, or even just contribute, anything, to the collective, but other than energy, he has offered nothing.

agree Az,
you can make out special players who can make it at the top level of club football...there are players who take time to adjust but at moment they show amazing glimpses of what they can do, which propells more appearances for them,
as for ramires, nothing seen yet..

We have no replacement for what Mikel does, so even if he were mediocre, which he isn't, we would be stuck playing either an all-attacking midfield, or stifle our best players for the sake of not playing Mikel. He's good, not so much lately, but no one has been good lately, you can hardly blame him for it.

Anelka is our current joint-top scorer despite playing out of position (he and Drogs were amazing as a striking partnership early last season). We have not been pinning teams into their own halves, and that's when Anelka does his best work, dropping into space, allowing Malouda and Lamps to rush through, and work his magic outside of the area. Either that or getting onto balls over the top, and without Lamps that's been something we've struggled to do. To say Anelka is uninterested is akin to saying that about Berbatov, the only reason to do so is when things aren't clicking. He's won me over and I wouldn't sell him, not yet anyway.

Adebayor does not slot into our system. Either he or Drogba would have to move wide, and both of them will do a worse job than Anelka. Drogs can handle himself there, but he outranks Adebayor and I doubt he'd be keen on playing out of position for Adebayor. We have no use for him. I'd rather have Fuller, frankly.

Ramires is crap, right now I'd rather play McEachran, or even recall Matic, than play him.
That's the point, adebayor does not slot into our system at all, but our system is broken.

I see a return to a 4-4-2 diamond

=======Drogba====Adebayor=======
==========Kalou(Benayoun when fit)==========
==Malouda==============Lampard=====
===========Essien==============
==Cole===Terry====Ivanovic===Bosingwa=

with Mikel as the defensive impact sub and Anelka the impact attacking sub, and hopefully a replacement brought in to replace kalou/benayoun.

We do have a superb replacement for Mikel, he's called Michael Essien, its just our squad is so paper thin right now we have to play both.

We spent 18m on Ramires. Imagine if we hadnt, and we now sold Zhirkov (6m?), Ferreira (4m), Anelka (8m), Kalou (10m?) and abramovic chipped in a modet 20m, thats not far short of a 70m warchest to properly refresh and restructure our squad.

I dont think Maceachran is quite ready for regular football, as impressed as I am by him. Also Kakuta needs to up his game severely to justify all the fuss.

Agree with this. He impressed me a little at first, he didnt overdo it, played modestly, stayed solid and looked as if he planned to slowly and steadily secure his place in the team... but since the slump he has started panicking and trying to play beyond his capabilities, especially with teammates he's only just joined, with the result that his presence actually negatively impacts our performances.

Our system is't broken, it just needs tinkering.

The diamond got found out, and the players who most benefitted from it, Drogs and Anelka, made it work together to compliment each other, how will Drogs and Ade compliment each other in this system? You're just chucking players together, hoping for it to work. Lamps and Malouda were stifled in that system, and they'll be stifled again, as well as Essien, who plays best as a box-to-box and not as a defensive midfielder. Mikel is our best defensive midfielder, right now, he's better at it than Essien, and he allows Essien to play like he likes to play, as well as Lamps. Those 3 as our midfield trident is the best midfield we have right now.

Our squad is thin right now and you want to sell our senior subs and overhaul the squad? That's retarded, we need to bring some new players in, and give the youth players a chance, we don't need an overhaul, and that includes tactical schematics.

Chelsea has too many athletic players and not one "fantasista" . Everytime when I watch CHelsea i have the impression they have the same player repeated 8 or 9 times :|

Manchester United is more succesful in the same period and stole their dream in CL final with different type of players so it seems they're not that good either

Manchester don't really have a fantasista either. English football in general is more direct, few teams employ a classic No.10 as such.

hmm, you are right but Man U playing style is somewhat more based on combinations then that of Chelsea, who primarily excel in physhical strengh and stamina.

And Arsenal playing style is very similar to Barcelona, based on short passes and technical executions, we can say they're not a stereotipical english team .

Disagree, for me Michael Essien is up there with Messi and Ronaldo in the world absolute elite. Drogba is and always has been a far superior striker to Rooney or Torres and is perhaps the best in the world. We have the stars, it's just that there are also some players in the team who are simply journeymen.

Dont pretend United have been anything better than piss poor this season. You've just had luck, whilst we havent. You've been very lucky to get draws, whilst we were very unlucky not to get wins in fixtures such as everton and tottenham. Also, Pulis, Bruce and Alladyce are completely in Ferguson's pocket guaranteeing you six easy wins a season in what should be tough fixtures and are for everyone else - 18 free points a season. The FA anti corruption committee should look into SAF's relationships with other clubs and managers.

Yes I do want to sell our senior subs - I dont want us to go the way of liverpool where we keep hold of poor players, let our best players get old or get sold and end up with our team getting slightly worse each season. Time for something dramatic.

You cant give youth players a chance at a time like this, when we're in serious trouble. We have some players with good potential, but you bring them in slowly, starting them in less important games, one at a time, and let them ease there way in. Right now every game for us is critical, and for critical games you need proven quality. No way are any of the five young guns ready for anything more regular than thirty minutes off the bench in home fixtures against teams like blackpool when we are 2-0 up.

We are in crisis right now, and true, it's not the time to force some youngsters into the team, but when we put this behind us, we will need to give youth a more serious chance. We had chances to bleed a few guys in this season and we haven't done it enough.

I didn't watch it today, I was going to, but I was at a friends' house and could either rush home and catch the match or stay, and for the first time I felt no motivation to come home and watch it, and I'm glad of it. Absolute ****, and while I want him to stay, I can't see how Carlo will make it to February.

John Terry was right....depth at Chelsea has waned in recent months.

First of all he is not a United fan, second of all giving up a lead in the last 5 minutes 4 or 5 times this season can hardly be considered luck. United has been as lucky as everybody else and we got our own matches to point to bad luck. Unless your view of bad luck is that rivals like Chelsea decided to self-destruct? In that case, its more of poor planning rather than luck.
