Congratulations to Chelsea and all its fans. You were the team who was the most consistent, and wasn't as rattled with the injuries of their star players as some others. Job well done!

A lot of our players are going to the World Cup it seems, Joe Cole has a slight chance of making the cut. But one omission that surprises me the most is that Alex wasn't included in the Brazilian squad. Wow, I'm sorry if I'm biased but I believe that Alex in the form he is in with us surely deserves a shout. He did all he could and I honestly am gutted if he isn't selected for playing in the World Cup.

For some reason this brazilian squad doesn't really thrill me with there current forwards. I mean there CB talent are stacked which is a rare thing to say but I hope alex makes the cut. Especially when you play in the EPL and your a brazilian centerback playing for the best current club at the moment. I'm getting the Micho situation with Bayern and Argentina in WC 2006. :(

FA Cup final, same starting line-up as Wigan, let's do this thing.

We're also being heavily-linked with Torres. Now, I'm never a supporter of huge transfer deals, because I want us to be self-sufficient, and I also want guys like Sturridge and Borini to become great players for us. And Drogba and Anelka have done great, and there's no guarantees that Torres would work well with either of them, although they've both proved to be able to spear-head and support, so he should be able to.

He's an excellent striker, Premiership-proven, but he gets injured SO much. I'm not entirely sure we need him, although it's true that we don't have an excellent sub for our strikers (Kalou isn't a No.9, and Sturridge and Borini are too young), an he does have several years in him, still. And we're being linked with strikers, so it might as well be a world-class, proven striker.

All in all, I won't be ecstatic, nor disappointed if he comes. If Abramovic is willing to pay those sums for him, that's his choice. Carlo has said that we'll give the youngsters more time, and I trust that that's what we'll do. I really want to see a golden generation emerge next year, like Becks et al were.

Anyway, first thing's first, double.

EDIT: Half-time, 0-0, no idea how. 5-6 woodworks, Kalou missing a sitter, lots of chances, no goals. Cech was amazing at one point, parrying a shot from 4 yards out with wonderful reflexes, but I really dunno how this is 0-0. The pitch is dry, the ball slows down and that's better for them than us. How is it 0-0?! Can't believe it. Good match from our guys pretty much, Kalou, ridiculous miss aside, is sub-par so Cole will probably come on later. Belletti replaced Ballack before the break after a hideous challenge from Boateng caught his ankle. Intentional, forceful, especially after the two had argued moments before. I hope that's not the last we see of Ballack, same goes for Cole.

EDIT: 1-0, Dorgba free-kick, we've won. Far from a brilliant match, but we did it, double-winners. Cech saved a penalty and Lamps missed one. England can be happy with their keeper if James plays like that in the WC.

So, Premiership, FA, Community Shield, next season here we come.

Very happy to have achieved the double at long last.(Y)

Not a showpiece game by any means, but it was certainly enthralling none the less. We looked a little tired at times, which is to be expected I guess after such a heavy season, and I couldn't believe how may times we hit the woodwork before we scored. Lovely free kick by Drog though. He had a very good game I thought.

I thought some of the Portsmouth players attitudes were disgraceful. I understand the fact that when your players are not in the same class as the opposition players, that your team might compensate for that by being a bit "in your face" and competitive, but I thought the stamp on Ballack by Boateng, and the stamp on Cole by Dindane should have been red cards.

Ballack had to leave the game because of the injury, and is now worried that his injury might threaten his World Cup.

Ashley could of also had his foot broken, which would have ruled him out of his World Cup too.

Both stamps were intentional and the ref should have shown them both a red.

As for Michael Brown, he is and will always be a nasty thug who shouldn't be allowed on a football pitch. Nasty <unt who has no skill at all, and is only there to literally cripple the opposition. Shame the ref was a complete bottler.

Anyway it looks as if our players apart from Ballack, came through it all relatively unscathed so we'll just bask in the glory of Chelsea's first double winning season.

Roll on next season where hopefully we can do even better.

Nah, Alex sucks. You should sell him to Bayern.

Anyway, on another note, I guess Beckenbauer was asked about Ballack today after our game and if they would try to "bring him home" and he said that ANY team could sign him. I guess his future is just that uncertain. I don't think clubs like you or us who will try to low ball him have a shot, I'd guess a 6th place team or thereabouts is probably the best bet; they'll try to sell him as a savior. Maybe City (H)

Watched an interview with Bruce Buck today. He stated that 4 players will be leaving Chelsea this summer, and 4 players will be joining. We know the 4 players who are leaving and they are, Belletti, Carvalho, Ferriera and Ballck. As for the 4 players coming in, we won't know that until it happens, despite the ridiculous extent of the gossip regarding incoming players to our club.

Mandieta6 mentioned Torres in an earlier post, and I agree that he is too injury prone to be reliable. Apart from that he is a wimp with a sh!t attitude. I wouldn't want him at the club personally, and I couldn't care less who gets him.

There's a huge amount of player's and agents using our club to pump up their own value, or using us to secure extentions to existing contracts, and I haven't heard one name linked with us yet that I would want to see at the club.

Even funnier is a gossip report I read today claiming that Mourinho will not join Real Madrid in the summer unless they can guarantee the transfers of Lamps and Drog to the Bernabau. I find this crap so laughable.

There has been again the usual end of season rumour mongering claiming that Roman is on his way out of Chelsea too. With regard to that, Bruce Buck also said today that Roman has told him that he has no intention of ever leaving Chelsea. He is with us for life according to Bruce.

That must be very dissapointing for the people who have been predicting and hoping since 2005 that his departure was on the cards. It's great to know that Roman hasn't tired of his "little toy", as so many haters called us back then, and it looks like he is with us for the duration.

There must be quite a few gutted people out there I would think.

The parade today was great fun. Lots of singing and dancing and feeling good. Carlo even belted out a song when the bus stopped at Eel Brooke Common, which everyone joined in with. A very happy day all in all.

The four players leaving should be Deco, Carvalho, Belletti, and Ferreira/Ballack. Heck, even Joe Cole could leave.

But out of the players mentioned, I think Deco and Belletti are certainties to leave. They've been quoted saying they want to return to Brazil.

Ballack is still sorting out his contract, as too Joe Cole, I'm not sure what's Ferreira's standing is in all this.

But Carlo did mention that Kakuta, Bruma, Hutchinson, Borini, Matic will all be promoted to the first team next season.

So like for like its Kakuta->Joe Cole, Bruma->Carvalho, Hutchinson->Belletti/Ferreira, Matic->Ballack/Deco.

Great, now Ballack is out of the World Cup because of that disgusting challenge by Boateng. I wouldn't be surprised if it was intentional(given Boateng was rejected by Germany and opted for Ghana, where both teams are in the same group).

Utterly gutted for Ballack, I really wished he would at least sign off on a high captaining Germany in South Africa but now it looks like his international career might be over.

If it's true that 3-4 will be leaving like Gourlay said, I'd rather them be Deco, Belletti and Ferreira. Renew Ballack and Cole and keep Carvalho. It's not certain that Hutch, Mancienne or Bruma will be able to step up in the near future, and he's still one of the best CBs in the world. Unlucky with injuries, but he's still my first choice starter over Alex, when fit.

Thats true, but in the other hand, maybe we will win the WC without him, cause Ballack has this shadow on him of the eternal runner up.....So many finals...so few cups
