I said our defense is better, and I said it'd come down to defending, now we'll have to see how Pep tackles the next match, nbut I'm feeling confident.

What do people think will happen next match? Will Guus play Cole or keep Bosingwa? Most sensible choice would be taking out Ivanovic, although he hasn't done badly at all in the CL matches so far, so I really dunno.

Other than Drogba's Usual horrible diving (and a Messi dive when alex got yellow card) match was very pretty boring and dominated by barca.



hopefully 2nd leg is more exciting and will be a very close match

No offense but I really can't stand Ballack or Drogba not just bc Chelsea beat Juve but bc of how unfair they play. I dislike that on any player even Juve players. Nedved has done it too and I dislike it.

Ballack got punished with a yellow card for his challenge on Henry, the first lunge was reckless but the Barca player got up quickly(credit to him) and play continued.
So please tell us for what he should've been sent off for or sod off.

Drogba was being usual Drogba, so I don't get what suprises u lot. At least he doesn't harm/injure anyone with his antics.
Also, at least this team ain't got a prick named Christian Poulsen.

About our style of play against Barca, as a football fan, I didn't like it, but as a Chelsea fan, it was understandable because of Barca's strength at the Nou Camp(put Bayern's hammering in mind), we only have to consider this as part of Hiddink's strategy.
But bear in mind we didn't have Ash Cole to contain Messi, so the back 4 was experimental and needed help from the midfield.Hence, the inclusion of Mikel at the expense of our standard formation.

How sweet would've it been to score an away goal with that Drogba chance?
Man Utd fans can't complain since they did the exact same thing last season(even if it was against a below-par Barca team then).

Rest assured, in a week's time, it'll much more open than this, we also need to score to go through, Barca are more than capable of scoring at the Bridge, we just need to win against them, and to achieve that we need to score goals.

how can they complain about drogba... did you see Alves. He made drogba look like a professional actor at times. Was Alves shot in the ankle? He was literally rolling around on the floor face down in 'agony'. Meeedic!!

awesome defensive match, you make iniesta and xavi looks like 30 meters far away of attacking trio. bosingwa follow messi even to the bathroom. and chelsea made a very intelingen thing, guus already know that barça steal balls when the rival team start his attack making an insane pression and the player ho make more passes i think it was cech, all looking for drogba.
anyway, sorry for you but we are gona advance to the final not only because we deserve but we are better, much better than you.

fair enough, you'll only prove that you're the better team by beating us at the Bridge. And that is not as easy as it sounds. Given what happened in recent ties against Barca, I'm sure the Chelsea lads and fans will be up for it. We'll have A.Cole and Bosingwa back(Ivanovic is a mismatch against Henry).

Yup, Alves did roll about and moan like a prick at times, which is a shame because I always held him in high regard as a player. Now I'm glad we signed Boss instead of him, versatile and doesn't moan about even when played out of position(with the prospect of marking the best footballer on the planet).

Like Zak, I don't like to see us play that kinda game, but it worked a treat. Makes a change to do it to someone else, after the amount of teams that have closed us off so many times this season. Good job done all round. Shame Drog didn't put that chance away though.

I agree that Ballack has a very nasty side to his game. He rarely wins a tackle cleanly. That's surprised me about him. He won't be here next season if Chelsea decide not to extend his contract. I can't say he deserves a new contract in my opinion.

It will be a crazy return game at the Bridge, and I am looking forward to it big time.

you did a great job against gients. nobody expects David to beat the hell out of goliath in the mountain. He can make sure he's still alive to continue that fight in a city.

I know it's the anti-football option, but I wouldn't mind us doing the same at the Bridge and picking them apart in the last 10 minutes or extra-time. We're physically superior, and we can do it. That said, we're good enough to beat them based on quality at the Bridge, we'll have to see how Guus goes into it.

The one thing you don't want to do on the return leg, and Hiddink should pay attention to this, is to try and take the game to penalties. Otherwise, you might as well just start putting your bets on Barca.

So Chelsea better play equal to, or better than when they played against Liverpool..... when they started scoring of course.
