That was a good match, as quite surprised to see so few real chances, but it was nice seeing such a good battle in midfield and between forwards and defenders. Our defense was spectacular. I'm really enjoying watching Branislav, he is so strong, so robust, and such a good marker. Very pleasantly surprised by him. Cole was very good too, he didn't add that much to the attack, but he was superb defensively. I can't fault him for not keeping up with Walcott all the time, he had a great game, but Cole did well. So many great tackles, and that brings me to IMO, Man of the Match, Frank Lampard.

I always knew he could defend as well as attack, but he had such a great game on both fronts in that second half. Excellent defending, good anticipation, gave us good chances and really rattled Arsenal. His assist was very good as well, reminded me of Guti's pass last week, but Drogba was aided by Silvestre's slowness and poor positioning. I think he'd have scored were it Kolo as well, but still. Poor Fabianski, that first error must've scared him ****less. Goals weren't his fault, and really, I barely noticed the keepers.

Drogs and Adebayor had a good game, it as interesting to see them both on the field as they're quite similar. In fact, they had some amazingly similar moments, big difference was in the defense. Arsenal's didn't have a bad game, but it wasn't good either, and ours had a great day, which was really where the two teams were seperated. Both midfields were pretty good, Malouda with another good game, same goes for Essien. Ballack and Anelka, well, meh. Players of their calibre should always be dangerous and be real difference-makers. I'm not impressed with Anelka on the right, and considering Ivanovic's only offensive asset is his buffalo-like stampede, we had nothing to offer on the right.

I think this game could do good for Cech's confidence, he didn't mess up, and that's not something we should be priding ourselves in, but after a poor week, it's a step-up. He still needs to find a way to deal with crosses, especially in the Premiership.

Optimistic about these final months. Arsenal are our last really tough opponent in the league, and we can get a result against them. They probably won't have anything to fight for by the time we match up, what with Villa's poor run and a hopefully bigger gap between us by then. Was nice to get a win after they beat us at the Bridge, but a win at their stadium would be even better.

I dunno who to hope for, Everton who will be having nothing else to fight for with their Europe spot pretty much guaranteed, or ManU, who're more dangerous but will also be more tired what with challenging for 3 title still, quite like us. Either way, this looks like another great season end.

Chelsea 2 - Arsenal 1.

Its so nice to beat Arsenal if only to remind them that they aint as great as they think they are. As a team, they are still too physically weak in my opinion, and their frustration at losing a game, always results in them losing the plot and getting nasty. Bad losers from the top to the bottom.

Don't care who we meet in the final. In fact I don't care who we meet anytime. If we win, we win. If we lose, we lose. Life goes on. It's only footie.

Chelsea vs. Everton in the final, who could have guessed. Anyway I'm looking forward to a great end of the season. For me, besides it being a difficult school year and working a lot, I have seen more games this season than previous. And the way we play, our midfield will destroy anything.

Brilliant way to cap off a week I must say. I'm glad our players(especially Malouda) managed to carry the form from our Liverpool games into this Arsenal game. It turns it he ain't so useless after all, eh pete? Let's hope he continues to prove us wrong. :D
After all that happened midweek it was understandable why we started off so slowly, but once we got to gripes with the game, there was no way back for Arsenal.
Yes, the pitch conditions were poor, but it affected both teams. Arsenal's inexperience(and lack of battling strength)as well as their inability to mix things up cost them.
Lamps was brilliant, I like how the papers are saying that we scored through "two long balls from Lampard". If it were Fabregas, he surely would've been praised for his "vision" and genious of "passing accuracy". Sour grapes makes the victory more sweeter.

After the game ended, hearing "Blue Day"(courtesy of Suggs and The Madness) boom off Wembley speakers sent shivers down my spine. I love the FA Cup.

Well Zakov, I guess confidence has a big part to play in Malouda's game, and it's a fact that the guy has not settled as quick as we hoped. Lately he has been playing well, and that's down to Gus. Same goes for Drog too. The way he has motivated our squad collectively and as individuals has been amazing since he came in. I really would like him to stay on, but somehow I don't think he will. I hope I'm wrong.

I saw the media reports covering the game with Arse and as you said, everyone of those know-nothing pricks mentioned " hopeful punt upfield", "long ball game" and even "lucky hoof upfield". Even the TV highlights commentary did not even mention the quality of the passing, they too aluded that the winning assist was a "boot upfield". Wankers.

And you are right. If that was Fabregas, Gerrard, Alonso, Giggs, (and this is the funny part), or even Carrick, Those balls would indeed have been played by a genius, a maestro even. Pathetic ignorance really. Fock 'em all.

As everyone who knows anything about footie knows, both assists were masterful passes indeed. With the perfect amount of backspin and top spin, the ball landed exactly where Lamps wanted it. He does it every game. It's instinctive. Everyone knows that, they just can't force themselves to say so.

We just signed the 16 year old Austrian striker Phillip Prosenic, son of former Austrian international Christian, has agreed a three-year deal to move to Chelsea from Rapid Vienna. A lot of clubs were after him including AC Milan, Juventus, Roma, Bayern Munich and Arsenal. We got him. (Y)

The club are to offer Joey Cole a new 4 year deal. I'm glad to hear that.

Yeah, I read about Joey's contract, real pleased for him, saw the highlights again and caught glimpses of him smiling and enjoying our win yesterday. Good news for us and me siggy. Another youngster has joined our youth team, seems promising from the little things that I've read about him, scored 8 goals in 17 appearances for his country's under 17s.

People are saying we English clubs are tapping up another youngster from a different league, well I have my own opinions about this. In the case of Prosenik, will he improve much if he stayed at Vienna? By joining a club like Chelsea, he'll be able to rub shoulders and learn from the world's biggest stars, as well as a good youth coaching staff, in a world class facility which is what Cobham is.

Surely, Austrians wouldn't mind seeing one of their youngsters take off in England, and possibly become a future star for their national team.

Can't wait for the midweek's game. cheers

I am sorry but I think the league is now out your grasp , after today's result.

Concentrate on the Champions League.
