I do know that I'm liking Ballack more now, he's lost his old finishing touch but he's more effective now and I'd rather have seen Belletti start as RB with Essien as DM and no Makalele, for a game against Arsenal anyways. Btw watching Arsenal is a bit disturbing with their haircuts.

Gotta congratulate you on the win today. Very good game, nice goals. Chelsea completely deserved this win and it was nice to see your team actually entertain in a huge match like this one. It was unusual to see Chelsea so dominant and offensive in a match that could decide the season. Very brave attitude, hats off.

Drogba is an absolute monster, and Grant is very, very underrated. I don't understand why people keep knocking him, he does great for you, especially considering whose shoes he had to fill.

In my eyes, your team is clearly better now than under Mourinho. Results and the standings won't suggest that, but if Abramovič doesn't fire Grant and gives him a season or two to try and achieve something, I can see an offensive Chelsea team full of flair gun for the major silverware. An attractive team that both succeeds and entertains.

I hope you continue on the same path, and I'm sure it will happen if the Russian leaves Grant right where he is. Massive win today, spot on in everything. Arsenal were lucky to hold on as long as they did.

well, not me... i dont hate avram, i think he is good at what he does, i heard he is a good person as well, and from what i have seen, he really looks like a nice kind of person to me, believe me, i am happy that we have him! its just that he is making unexpected moves too often and it doesnt seems to be the happiest solution all the time... today it was! definitely... and yeah, he is doing quite well... i dunno why is abramovich going to replace him, i think that is the worst he could do, but on the other hand it may be the best he could do... he cant know it now... neither can we or anyone else... i like avram, i didnt mean to insult him with that post, i meant... last few times he subbed anelka it wasnt so good, but avram hoped he will do something and he didnt that few times... today it was all the same except for... anelka did it - he passed to drogba and u now the rest :)

and last thing - i dont hate anybody from squad, okay?! how could i???!!! they are CHELSEA ;) if i say something bad about someone of them, it is because of their performance... not that i hate someone of them, please...

hope u understand now...

hey man I wasn't specifically attacking you or anything. I just don't understand why some Chelsea fans spit in his face every chance they get. I mean, would Mourinho have been much better off at this point of the season? I honestly don't think so. Grant has lost 2 games, 1 of which was his first in charge, away at ManU. You're not in first place right now but it IS the premiership...3 top class teams are battling for it. You know? I really hope he's given another season to really prove himself.

Cheers

Vedran-10...thanks man. To be honest, despite what the media like to think, Chelsea have gradually began to evolve this season under Grant. Today's game was just another step in the right direction. The last few games we have played have also been good games to watch too. The game against Spurs last wednesday is a fine example of the progress Grant is making in this mission to give the Chelsea fans a better brand of football.

Of course the entire media refuse to acknowledge that any progress is being made at all, and whenever things go right for us, they still give Jose the credit and Avram the insults. Morons. The shame of it is, that some thick fans from Chelsea (and fans of other clubs of course), read all this negative crap and are just stupid enough to go along with it all.

Well, if it makes them happy to think that then thats fine. They are the ones who will look silly in the end.

Grant is doing fine. The club is a better and calmer place top be these days, and with the players being given the opportunity to do their thing, they are much happier too. Roman will stick with Grant whether he wins anything this season or not. The media would like everyone to think otherwise of course, but what do they ever know about anything.

Its only a very small minority of Chelsea "fans" who give Avram stick. Mostly newbie fans as it happens. These pricks are like the idiots from Man U who decided to turn their backs on the club, and start their own football club instead of remaining loyal to Manchester United. Liverpool have a few of these idiots too, so it's not just us. Fans who boo their own players are of the same ilk. All clubs have them.

They do not represent the majority of Chelsea fans and sonner or later they will either STFU, or piss off and support someone else. Preferably the latter.

wow, what a game!! It was a great match of football, both teams going for it, and to top it off with us getting the winning goal!! Great atmosphere, but i was a bit disappointed with most of the fans that booed Gallas, I mean the guy deserves a better treatment from us since he was a main part of our championship winning team twice, regardless of how he left the club.........
One thing I hate about the fans chanting(Jose chants) was that they were chanting when we were still in the game, now its one thing to criticize a manager after having a bad result, but its another thing to throw negative chants at the manager of the team that yer supporting while they're still chasing a game, its just stupid of them really.........

well, i've been saying how we all hoped that Avram would get it right this time, well thank god he did, but it wasn't rocket science since all he did was change the formation to a more attacking one, bringing on attacking players........but it was the fact that he had the guts to change things even after all that has been said about him.

but Drogba was all over Gallas today, could've had a hat-trick if Almunia hadn't denied him late in the game.........
A bit disappointed with Liverpool, thought they were good value against Man Utd, unfortunately that wasn't the case....
But we got one over Arse, not to mention our first victory against one of the so-called big four this season!!

5 points behind Man Utd, with them still to play us at the Bridge and also Arse , its still very possible!!

Another thing, I think Carlo deserves more games even after Cech is back, because he has been brilliant for us in the past few games,
Against Arsenal he was as brilliant as ever!!
He deserves it!! :)

Come on Chels!

Nice Zakov(Y)

Carlo is a Chelsea legend. What he has given to this club over the years earns him that. The fans have always adored him and he loves the fans. Every interview he gives he mentions the fans, and that since he came to Chelsea, he has never wanted to be anywhere else. We are lucky to still have him at the club and I think all Chelsea fans feel the same way.

Still basking in the glory of yesterday....:amika:

yeah, nothing beats beating the Arse, innit? Its just sheer satisfaction as well as the fact that we were 12 points behind them once and now we are the closest to Man Utd!! To be honest with yer, as positive as I am, i didn't fully expect us to pip Arsenal at the time............
gawd, I just hope we carry on playing like we played against Spurs and Arse minus the defensive set-pieces thing......

Morgan Anderson the ex-Lyn Oslo manager, who was accused by Chelsea, Mikel Obi and his agent John ****tu, of forging Obi's contract at 18 years old, therefore making his sale of Obi to Man U illegal, has been found guilty as charged.

The documents were clearly and quite badly forged according to the court.

This vindicates everything that Chelsea and Obi said at the time, that the contract was never signed by Obi and that Anderson had no rights whatsoever to sell Obi to Manchester United.

Anderson has leave to appeal, but as the 2 years prison sentence was suspended for 2 years, he would be mad to risk getting a heavier punishment.

The matter of compensation to be paid to Chelsea will be heard in due course.

Those of you that jumped on the Chelsea hating media bandwagon at the time, can post your opologies in this thread.

If you just feel like the idiot that you are, and are too embarrassed or defensive to say sorry thats OK, 'cos it's enough for us to know that you were so very very wrong about all this, and we were so very very right.:D

for fond memories on Turkish grounds in the Champions League, watch here:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=E1XhF3_wLzQ

i remember the Zola goal and still can't figure why it wasn't offside!! I reckon if it was this time around, linesman would've flagged it off straight away!!

Thats T.A Flo at his best, sadly not many Chelsea fans NOW know him...........
and what happened to Jody? Last thing I remember is that he went to Leeds and they got relegated......he was great for us

got a win against Boro, much needed 3 points, but to be honest it wasn't as easy as it could've been, Boro hit the goalposts and the crossbar a total 3 times in the second half, we should've put the game out of the reach in the 1st half with many chances, in the 2nd half we were just woeful......still its 3 points and with a crucial game in Turkey coming up, I'd settle for it, one way or another.....

come on Chels!!

Almost the entire team played international football for their respective countries on Wednesday, and it showed today. Its not so bad if only one or two of your players are internationals, but when a team has so many as we do, then I am not surprised to see a game like that at the end of an International week.

Maybe we should pretend that our players are injured next time like Man U did with Ronaldo and Nani.

Still as you say Zakov, 3 points in the bag, and us back in second place. Perfect. That must have frustrated a few people today huh? (H)

yes! finally someone says it! what the **** was that? Greece thanked the hell out of United for that. I'm glad it was just a friendly and we used to watch a couple of other players, but if they did that on a qualifier, I'd ******* burn the Old Trafford to the ground..

wow, i didn't know that, and the Portuguese FA fell for it? lol
Ronaldo looked anything but injured against Villa last night......

they stated "fadiga muscular"..like muscular fatigue, literally translated. I mean, like I said before, it was only a friendly..if they had come, they would've probably just played at most 45 minutes...but anyway it's the principle that's wrong..

Filipower

That doesn't make it any righter. When Chelsea or Arsenal do that to Portuguese players, I'll protest again...that's the only reason why I'm saying this really, if they were of any other nationality I wouldn't care :D

Help?

I'm sure that if Portugal really cared about that game, the doctors wouldn't tell the coach to leave Ronaldo and Nani. You guys have a big tournament coming up and Scolari saw Greece as a pretty useless game, so instead he probably decided that it would be better to leave Ronaldo and Nani where they are and save their legs. Scolari knows that Ferguson is going to play them every single opportunity he gets from now on, so why risk the fitness and fatigue of such players for a meaningless game before EUROs? Similar thing happened with Van Der Sar.

Given the circumstances, I never said it was wrong(well, it was principle-wise) since it was ONLY just a friendly game, and our clubs have crucial games coming up.........i just found it to be amusing with Ronaldo in great form yesterday when he was supposed to have fadiga muscular or summat.........our Lamps couldn't even recover in time for the Boro game(flu) and Fergie once labeled him a physiological freak.....
