Coming from a non-Chelsea Supporter (although I Support Michael Essien) This whole mess could work in your favour. Most teams (like Manchester United this upcoming Sunday) knew what to expect with Jose & his tactics. Now, it's going to be a great big surprise for United because they don't know Avram's Coaching style. Plus, maybe he learned a thing or two from Jose, who knows? and let's not forget you still have the same players from last week. So, your future is not as dark as dipset have you believe it is.

I dont think the future is dark, i just dislike Grant , his style of play is not special, his isreali side he managed was ALLLL About grinding out results, why SVEN praises him, is because Grant had his squad well organized and Sven respected that. If Chelsea win, credit wont go to Grant , it will be about the players dedicating the game and their season for Mourinho,. but Grant I absolutely despise him.

I'll give you that mate, but also think that Grant is a temporary fix, until Comrade Roman can find enough Russian hookers err... support staff and dump trucks full of cash to throw at a worthy replacement.

To be fair, the only way your going to get results with Israel is by grinding out results. Grant does have a good record with club football in Israel aswell. The only thing with Avram is he's used to being forced to get the most of his teams, with the smallest amount of talent. So how can you judge how well he is going to do with alot of talent ?

He seems pretty admired in the world of football, not just from Sven. When he was at Portsmouth, Harry Redknapp initially criticised his appointment as being intrusive and undermining. But was quickly won over, and when asked about him now, he says his role was very advisable and helpful.

I don't know why I'm particularly trying to protect Chelsea's new boss (if only temporarily). But I just don't like to see a manager criticised before being given a chance. If he can influence the team, and get them believing in the short amount of time before Sundays game, a win for Chelsea on Sunday wouldn't be all that suprising against a Man Utd side that is scraping wins. And I'm sure alot of Chelsea's fans would change their tone.

Kulixs heres wats gonna happen, this year is gonna be dedicated to Mourinho, the players will still be playing for Mourinho, they wont be playing for Grant i assure you that. The players are attached to Mourinho and his motivation and belief he gave them is with them forever, If Chelsea win , in no way am i gonna give credit to Grant but i'll give the credit to the players. im not the only one, millions of Chelsea supporters around the world dont want this guy in. Grant has good networks, good powerful networks, no surprise he knows Abramovich. Grant seems to be a puppet, and ever since he got appointed to the club , i despised it. It seems right now Abramovich wants to choose who comes in , hes got his own scoutin network and everything setup , and we better not be the next Hearts, that would be dreadful.

i also would love to give a crack to C*NT named Peter Kenyon
the man talks nothing but nonsense. First saying that Jose's future was safe on Tuesday before he was dismissed on the Thursday, that portrays him as either a liar or completely clueless - not great either way. Then there's this utter rubbish of course of the 3m pound a year Yes man in spying GRANT. Now i would go at Abramovich for treatin Mourinho like sh*t in which he did, but i think the extra 10 mil made up for that and im sure Mourinho is happy with that as well. BUt on this i agree with Pede, i believe Abramovich has learned his biggest lesson durin all this

It doesn't matter what kind of tactics the new coach puts into the team, do yer really think new tactics could integrated from a new coach straight away, i expect nothing to change against Utd...we'll still be playing the same football(the Mourinho way that is) just without the Special One in the sidelines.............
The thing i'm most concerned about is what do the players think about this?
What I mean is not about players' performance but their futures at the club, someone like Riccy Carvalho who was very close to Jose might feel unsettled......and judging by the pics Dipset posted above its obvious that everyone in the club is sad and disappointed with the lack of patience Abramovich had with Jose.......I also don't trust Grant btw, he has that shady character type written all over him.........i respect what he has done with his national team, but its a different ball game when it comes to managing top players at this great club....
I get the feeling that Grant will manage Chelsea only to suit Roman's tastes.....but that won't guarantee results or trophies....I really hope someone like Deschamps comes in sooner rather than later..........

Well the negativity here astounds me.

Lets get this right. In every club all over the world, the owner has the first and last say. Regardless of what the fans might want the owner will always do as they please. Chelsea is owned by Roman and if he feels that changes have to be made then he will make them, whether the decisions are popular or not.

This unrest between Jose and Roman had definately been affecting the players and the team spirit, so one or the other had to go. It was never going to be Roman was it? Thank God.

Jose, apart from being a great coach is also a loose cannon, we all know that. He also demands that he has first and last say in EVERYTHING. Roman as the owner, and Chelsea's saviour by the way, is exactly the same. This was always going to come to a head sooner or later. It didn't seem important while the team were still performing but once the team began to suffer then Jose had to go. If he loved Chelsea like he said he did then I believe that he would have found a compromise somewhere along the line. If he found that impossible to do for whatever reason, then fair play to him and adios mate.

We all know what a huge ego Jose has, and lets be honest about this, he was at Chelsea for his own benefit and to promote himself as well as doing all he could for the club.

When he finally turned on his own players during his press conferences this season, then for me that was the final straw. He would not even credit Sheva at all for the fine game he had against Rosenborg. He said the team played badly "and I include Shevchenko in that". Total disrespect to the players who have followed his instructions to the letter from day one.

There may well be some players who will want to follow Jose out of Chelsea, particularly the Portuguese contingent. If thats the case then thanks and goodbye lads. There will also be quite a few players who will be glad to see him gone too. Those players that he marginalised and treated badly will not be too sad i am sure.

Jose always had to be the "star" at Chelsea and I don't think that he could handle anyone becoming bigger than him at the club. He actually said not that long ago," We do not need star players at Chelsea, there is only one star at Chelsea and that is me".

I laughed at that statement at the time thinking that was pure Jose, but I really do think that he was deadly serious. He played his mind games with our players as well as with everyone else and I believe that for every player that he helped, there were 2 players that he didn't. He could destroy a players confidence as well as giving it.

FFs get over this. He is gone and thats that. We are supposed to be Chelsea fans , and as much as Jose has done for us, he is NOT the club. So, if you would rather follow Jose than Chelsea then see ya later fellas. I for one will back my team before any one individual.

Roll on Sunday. We will beat Man U at Old Trafford and then the world will be a wonderful shade of BLUE once more.

i'm trying to be as positive as possible but it'll take time for me to get over the nonsense thats happening at the club...........
it all happened to soon but the thing is ,I just didn't see it coming and most of the fans, like me, weren't prepared for this..........

I'll definitely support the lads when they take on Utd as usual but I'd think for some of the fans, and the players,i fear that it'll be to soon for them to get over whats happened........i just want us to get a decent result against Utd and build from there........and just get on with it......the weekend can't come soon enough, its been a while since i've been in the dumps like this, and i'm absolutely gutted on whats happened........

Understandable Zakov, and with every other dickhead trying to wind us up over this, it's not surprising either.

I just saw Kalou making a statement, and he said that all the players are focused on winning Sunday's game. He said that the squad were getting over the shock of Jose's departure already and it will be business as usual. He said,

"We play for Chelsea and the Chelsea fans. The players have decided that whoever the coach is that we will fight for the club. It was a shock to learn about Jose leaving but that's football. We are still the same players and we still have belief in ourselves and in what we can achieve"

He also said that there were NO players during a meeting today at Cobham, who felt that they too would want to leave the club following Jose's departure. "Of course players come and go all the time anyway so thats nothing new", he added.

Positive response from Kalou.

By the way, Jose issued a statement today, and declared that he is happy that he has left Chelsea and he is feeling very good at the moment. So he doesn't sound very upset himself does he?

That cool amount in the bank from the settlement probably cheered him up.

Yep. I read part of the severance agreement is that Mourinho's next job can't be in England. Good news for both Chelsea and the rest of the Premiership. Unless your team is in need of a manager of course :p

or rather good news for Chelsea and bad news for Spurs(should Jol get sacked?)

The response from Kalou was positive indeed and lets all hope the players feel the same way in the end of the season......
i love the current team as it is(Riccy, Lamps, Paulo, Didi are all core players that brought Chelsea success) and i would prefer them not leaving..........
I just heard that they're giving Grant a permanent contract?!! i was like wtf?!!
Why not evaluate him first?!!

To evaluate Grant first sure does make sense before giving him a permanant contract. I suppose that if he does fail to deliver then Roman will just pay him off and bring in the next guy. On the other hand Grant might actually be more able than people are giving him credit for. I really do not think that the people at Chelsea would actually put an incompetent idiot in charge of the team either, don't you think? Whatever the Sun might say to the contrary.

Jose got paid his remaining 3 years salary. A stipulation of the agreement is that he does not take on another Prem club for the next 3 years. By then he will be busy somewhere else so the chances of him coming back to England are pretty slim I would have thought. He also would not want his family to have to uproot and move again in the near future. I can imagine that this has been very difficult for his wife and children.

so,
why José left the club?
did Roman forced him to sign and play players like Schevchenko and Ballack?

what do you guys think?

Nope.

Jose started to get upset when Chelsea brought in a chief scout(Arnesen). It was then that Jose realised that he was going to be the team coach and all other departments were going to be headed by other guys. Jose brought his own backroom staff, including Andre Villas his chief scout, when he arrived, and I think he thought that he and them would take care of scouting and every other department related to bringing players to Chelsea.

With the arrival of Arnesen, who was brought in after Jose made some awful purchases iiin the transfer market, Jose began to realise that he was not the "one and only" at Chelsea. I think he might have been worried that his friends jobs might have been at risk after that.

Chelsea also asked Jose to soften his attitude, especially when dealing with the media. This bought a statement from Jose that this season he was going to be much calmer and more respectful towards rival teams and managers. It was a promise that he just could not keep. Within a week of his statement he aimed more than one broadside at Benitez at Liverpool. I understand that Kenyon had to remind him of his earlier statement, and Kenyon made it very clear that as far as club PR was concerned, Jose was a disaster and needed to work on that. Jose told Kenyon to stick it I hear.

After that it was just a matter of time.

The final straw came when Jose slagged off the players after the Rosenborg game AND critisized indirectly Roman Abromovich when he said he was not given enough money to build the squad that he wanted, and that he had to work with 3rd rate players. After bankrolling Jose in the region of hundreds of millions, Roman was more than a little angry that Jose made this statement in front of the TV cameras. It was a ludicrous staement to make and one that made Jose and the club look a little stupid.

Gavin Peacock, who is a guy on the inside of Chelsea, has said until he is blue in the face, that Jose was very happy to have Sheva and Ballack at the Bridge. Suggestions to the contrary come from the media alone. It might have helped the situation to be honest if Jose would have made a statement or two in support of those players but he chose to remain silent. Although he did say that one star at Chelsea was enough, and that star was himself.

People will believe what they want to believe anyway, so whatever statements are issued would only be derided and scorned, if they do not suit the media's purpose.

I think giving Avram Grant a permanent contract was the only thing they could do. He needed a payrise because his previous role at Chelsea didn't pay a deservable amount to be first team coach I'm assuming. It's not as if they can give him a caretaker managers contract. I assume the contract will be a short one, and possibly have a number of clauses that mean if he doesn't peform up to standards, he can be replaced without too much of a financial loss.
