Well the negativity here astounds me.
Lets get this right. In every club all over the world, the owner has the first and last say. Regardless of what the fans might want the owner will always do as they please. Chelsea is owned by Roman and if he feels that changes have to be made then he will make them, whether the decisions are popular or not.
This unrest between Jose and Roman had definately been affecting the players and the team spirit, so one or the other had to go. It was never going to be Roman was it? Thank God.
Jose, apart from being a great coach is also a loose cannon, we all know that. He also demands that he has first and last say in EVERYTHING. Roman as the owner, and Chelsea's saviour by the way, is exactly the same. This was always going to come to a head sooner or later. It didn't seem important while the team were still performing but once the team began to suffer then Jose had to go. If he loved Chelsea like he said he did then I believe that he would have found a compromise somewhere along the line. If he found that impossible to do for whatever reason, then fair play to him and adios mate.
We all know what a huge ego Jose has, and lets be honest about this, he was at Chelsea for his own benefit and to promote himself as well as doing all he could for the club.
When he finally turned on his own players during his press conferences this season, then for me that was the final straw. He would not even credit Sheva at all for the fine game he had against Rosenborg. He said the team played badly "and I include Shevchenko in that". Total disrespect to the players who have followed his instructions to the letter from day one.
There may well be some players who will want to follow Jose out of Chelsea, particularly the Portuguese contingent. If thats the case then thanks and goodbye lads. There will also be quite a few players who will be glad to see him gone too. Those players that he marginalised and treated badly will not be too sad i am sure.
Jose always had to be the "star" at Chelsea and I don't think that he could handle anyone becoming bigger than him at the club. He actually said not that long ago," We do not need star players at Chelsea, there is only one star at Chelsea and that is me".
I laughed at that statement at the time thinking that was pure Jose, but I really do think that he was deadly serious. He played his mind games with our players as well as with everyone else and I believe that for every player that he helped, there were 2 players that he didn't. He could destroy a players confidence as well as giving it.
FFs get over this. He is gone and thats that. We are supposed to be Chelsea fans , and as much as Jose has done for us, he is NOT the club. So, if you would rather follow Jose than Chelsea then see ya later fellas. I for one will back my team before any one individual.
Roll on Sunday. We will beat Man U at Old Trafford and then the world will be a wonderful shade of BLUE once more.
