Reading through the Vinet years and the Chelmsfopoli, I realise to what level I managed to master FMRTE. Fuck, do you know how hard it is to change players' stats without having the game balance everything out? Fucking hard. Much harder than 'staying clean' and just giving it your all and hope for the best. I deserve a medal, my steroid-filled kids became the backbone of the club. Moreso than all your shit signings!

I don't think it is too hard to master FMRTE. Especially when you know what contributes to CA, and how much (yoyo provided that on a spreadsheet, didn't he?)

I was also smart enough to never change permanent attributes (PA, nationality etc) of a guy that was already in the game from the prior save. I waited for new gens during my era, so that I couldn't be caught out. I didn't change that much though. Upped the PA of the two Aussies (one was already high, I made it higher), but both were new gens the year I changed them. Otherwise somebody could have noticed that they were crap during their season.

Yeah, I did that, too. And it's not as easy as it sounds because if you were to take someone with low CA and max him out using FMRTE, he will be worse than if he were trained. The key was making the improvements gradually to coincide with training, while improving everyone and changing players' stats in a significant yet inconspicuous way.

You changed Aussies, though. It was obvious from the start that you had cheated. I could have pretended not to have cheated and you'd all be sucking me off right now.

I shouldn't have changed the one that was good alerady (maybe was a Kewell regen, do they still do regens?) But I wanted him better, because a 175-180 PA wouldn't get him a game at our side...Hell a ~195 hardly got him a game.

With attributes you just had to add a point every month or so to the ones you wanted. Otherwise their training history would show a jump.

With the Aussies, I'm fairly sure I got them REALLY young (or made them younger), changed their PAs, made their rep and CA quite low but didn't sign them until my next go in charge.

Shouldn't have signed them at all, should've let someone else do it. Or just create a non-Aussie player.

I didn't just go for the highest ratings, though, I specifically undershot, but made sure they'd develop in the right areas in ways that complimented one another. Metcalf was gonna be the poacher, Nsingi the enforcer, Sandor the DLP, Delimnikov the APM, Thorpe the speedster on the wing, Aerts the superfast Lahm, Vanderley the sweeper keeper and Shaw the Terry. Turned out great, too. I also signed Berisha (adding a manager in a way that doesn't seem suspicious was good, too) and a bunch of our best players for years who weren't altered. Couldn't believe Filiz was out there still, kid had like a 199 and balanced stats when I found him.

Yeah, I generally tried to make them a certain type of player too.

The issue is that we all had different ideas of how the team should play, and where we were going to play people.

I got that young English guy that we ended up selling to some other club where he always dominated - and I always bagged you guys for selling. He was a CM who could play AM and DM too. He was punished a little for being a Carlos of all trades, master of none. I had Stevie G in mind when I created him.

In my mind you guys are having this conversation about your fraudulent tactics in orange jumpsuits on a prison courtyard, sucking each others dick taking turns and you're like Luciano Moggi's bitches. And I feel like we only know half of all your fraud, the rest has yet to be uncovered. I'm just disgusted, disgusted!

Not Shaw :(

I'm actually really intrigued by the idea of Juric taking the reigns now that Vinet has been fired, especially because he was always better, not to mention English. He won all the awards and trophies that Vinet never quite could. I guess technically Vinet did win the World Cup, but he was injured in the second game, and he never won a World Player of the Year award while Juric won 6 (although one probably should have been Vinet's). If he turns the club around it would be tremendous. Maybe I'll try to download FM10 this weekend. I still have FMRTE on this comp for some reason, and Juric is just a youth coach at City.

What happened to Willy Topp? I think Willy deserves a job on Juric's staff. Everyone in Chelmsford loves Willy... I think because at least HE IS REAL, god dammit *sobbing* :(

If I can find a picture of Juric's mug in the thread I'm going to create one of those Panini cards for him. Personal favorite player and my trophy signing.

Juric and Vinet were real, and as far as I'm tracking so was Nemernicu. Vinet was signed extremely early by fender, but before that he was good enough as a youngster in like season 1 or 2 to get signed by Manchester United. Juric was discovered by Mus as a 16 year old at Sheffield United and he was already a god then, but no one signed him because of his pace until you did. Finally, Nemernicu was good enough as a kid in Romania to get signed by Barcelona and then was Spanish Player of the Year before I noticed and signed him. We still have the Big Three dammit!

Ok, you're right about Vinet and Juric, but I have my doubts over Nemernicu. Alex suspected Yoyo earlier in the thread of creating Nemernicu because of his absurdly amazing skillset and because his name has a funny meaning in Romanian (I think it was ''bastard''). This would be the form of fraud described a few posts before by our resident criminals: creating/editing the player, but not sign him to avoid suspicion. This is however only speculation.

Given Alex's unwitting attempts to cover his own crimes through the last few pages, the timing of his accusation seemed odd. Nemernicu was not mentioned at this stage, I believe. Did Alex point the finger to Yoyo for a crime he himself commited because Yoyo is of the same nationality as the subject, therefore has a possible motive? Is Nemernicu indeed Alex's ''STEVIE G''?! DA DA DUMMMMM….

Vinet was a smarter player (at least in my memory). I also think he was a better player - FM just based it's awards too much on CA and reputation (which I believe is limited by CA). Vinet had a lower CA, but rated ridiculously high over a long period of time. Vinet was also a playmaker/number 10, where as Juric was a striker. Generally playmakers are smarter players who make much better managers...But this is FM.

No, I definitely never touched Nemernicu. I think it was Shaw that I was talking about. Was he the guy that went to another EPL club, and played loads for England, won League player of the year etc?

No, Tom Shaw was Chelmsford's John Terry. Born and bred Chelmsford; came up with the youth intake.

And Juric was better. Vinet perhaps did play better in the Alex seasons, but overall, Juric was superior.

Yep, Juric was the best player in the game. Better than Nemernicu.

Vinet wouldn't have even made the squad once we got really good, but was kept around because of his name.

I think definitely in attributes Juric was better, I just liked Vinet. I think I just feel 10s are more complete players than strikers, so maybe I'm biased. Juric was a monster, Vinet was just so classy.

Who was that midfielder that I'm talking about?

From what I remember he was one of those guys in FM whose attributes never looked ridiculous, but they must have just been balanced perfectly with the match engine - as he ALWAYS seemed to perform. He also always seemed to come up with the big moments.
