I can hardly think of good managers I'd want at the club right now, much less available ones. This makes me want Pep, and I never wanted Pep! Poor Robbie, he saved our season, won us our first European title, and he gets sacked 6 months later.

Somehow reminds me what happened to Grant. He did well in champions league, league and I think Chelsea won FA Cup, he rescued the season after Mourinho left and he got sacked too.

You just know that had this been 30 years ago and in Russia RDM would have been taken out behind the shed end and shot.

you're right, double checked, Portsmouth won it, where are they? third division.

Btw, Chelsea won FA Cup 4 times in the last 6 years, that's impressive, FA Cup timing is really tough.

To be fair, Hiddinck never got sacked, he was actually asked to stay and refused.

What a bad move by Roman. He should at leas t waited to see what would happen in the next couple of games and the final CL group game.

I think Abrahimovic is hoping to pull another Di Matteo run. Sack the current manager when things are going crappy midway through the season. Hire a new guy, have the team luckily qualify from the CL groups and go on to win it, or go on a big EPL run.

But not with Benitez, he's the managerial version of Torres.

Lucescu in the Romanian press: "We want to win with Juventus, we've reached this level and want to demonstrate that we are one of the best teams in Europe. All this talk about an understanding between us and the Italians is bull****, the English reacted this way because they could go out of the CL, but many things can happen. It's enough for us to beat Juventus and they go through because I don't think they could stumble against Nordsjælland."

Looks like the game will be legit.

Start the Petrescu to manage Chelsea bandwagon!
Ha I liked that idea a while back but no way will they go for another unproven (despite his great performances in the smaller European leagues) former Chelsea star. But what about Lucescu - some vicious terrier bastard who wont take any **** could be exactly what we need.

Another name which is never mentioned in connection with us but I think should be is Laurent Blanc who also has the advantage of being unattached and therefore free.

Lucescu would be great. But he has now the best Shakhtar team ever and is trying to win the CL, I don't see it the right time for him to come. Plus he's got his own rich Abrahimovic taking care of him.

Yeah he would be one that would have to come in the summer after an interim manager.

Another name being bandied about is Capello - he might be a good interim choice as I'm sure he'd do the job for a few months, for a fat pay packet. Or quite honestly Redknapp for the rest of the season wouldnt make me too upset, rather him than Benitez.

Till the end of season, or until he fails to meet Abramovich's expectations. Sounds more like it

Never been a fan of him, should be interesting to see what he does with your team.

Benitez is 1 title coach (CL his favourite competition) and a father for Torres in sportive terms. problem are now mourinho's text to Cech, Lampard and Terry because i thinl he wants that bench.

The thing is, look at the skepticism of the fans and media over the Benitez appointment, so just imagine what the dressing room (especially the old boys) are gonna think of him....... they're not exactly gonna hang on his every word or jump through hoops for him........

Still, if he can just use some old school tactics to give us some defensive stability that would at least be something.

Oh dear. Another sign that Roman is not yet ready to give up on Torres. Perfect.

I'm sorry but my stomache turned. Maybe Gourlay didn't want to be the only fat fcuk in the boardroom.
