We thought that if Torres got the confidence and complete backing of the club, he'd shine. We were wrong. It's such a shame. I was completely against this move when I first heard the rumors but supported Torres through and through and at times it looked like he'd do it. But that was just wishful thinking. I still hope he'll somehow turn it around but I'd really just like to see us get someone and finish the season with someone else.
Why are you nervous about Cahill and Luiz? I think they're good. The defense is better with Terry, but it might have to do with how great an organiser he is. I think Luiz could become that leader, but he's not there yet. Still, they won the CL these two. I'd be comfortable with any pairing of any of our 4 CBs, honestly.

Torres + 25m for Falcao on January 1st is literally the best possible outcome for EVERYONE - both of the players and both of the clubs. But Athletico are probably gonna be ****s and not take it.Mandieta6;3343165 said:

Torres doesn't have a good relationship with the Atletico Board apparently. And no that isn't the best deal for them because they still have half a season to play to qualify for the Champions League. June 1st maybe it's the best deal, but not January 1.

Just imagine if someone other than Torres would have scored those critical goals at the CL last year. He would have been already shipped out and you would probably have gotten a better ST.

Right now I think he gets more credit than he deserves, quite honestly.
I was all up for Torres getting his chance this season, after all, we thought he lacked service, so the club brought Oscar, Hazard and Marin. Still nothing to show that he is the same striker we saw at Liverpool. Our season has reached a point where we can't rely on him any longer, he's finished.
And where in heavens is Marin, he was one of our better players during pre-season.
I thought Marin played well enough in his CC appearances, should make the most of him now that he's fit.

Poor Marin is the guy who lost out the most from us getting into the CL. He was a safety buy, just in case, and now he doesn't have a spot, largely due to him getting injured and 4 different players playing well in his position. But I think he's the best dribbler in the squad and could be a very functional player for us. I just hope he gets a chance at some point.

I think you're all underrating Torres, I know he wasn't quite himself last season, but what are his stats this season? I can't remember right now but i'm sure they're not bad. I think he's just lacking confidence and thus doesn't provide what is expected of him. But yep you don't really have a reliable backup striker so Falcao would be the best option. But in case you would get the last one i mentioned you should surely ship out Torres. There are plenty of clubs that could use him, but money is another issue ...

I hope Levante go through so I can go and watch us play live for cheap. But yes, this is pretty awful. Juventus aren't that much better than us, if at all. Absolutely pathetic stuff. Azpi on the right made sense, but it just gave Asamoah the liscense to stay forward. Now to lose against City!
