Lots of guys out on loan. Yossi, Kakuta, Chalobh, Essien and maybe Romeu. Someone explain why we didnt loan Essien to Everton butsent him to Madrid to be on their bench behind better players. I'll wait yo tomorrow to see how the dust settles but this all sounds strange.

Falcao is amazing.

I'm not bothered about losing either cup, they're both exhibitions, and I won't panic because it's clear Chelsea never showed up. However, I do worry that RDM has managed to motivate players for thr big games, but fails to spur them at all for minor matches.

Essien out on loan... I really don't see the logic from our side of things. We don't need to get his wages off the book since they don't count for FPP, he's not gonna improve through playing-time at Real, where he'll see less playing time than here. Hope he explodes under Mourinho again and returns to his old self. Unlikely though.

We failed to off-load Malou and only managed to loan out Yossi, whose contract expires this season, so that's been a huge waste of money. Kakuta to Vitesse on-loan, hope it goes well. Chalobah to Watford, which is a good level for him. Romeu stayed, think I'd have preferred Essien here and Romeu at Malaga but whatever.

Lukaku injured I think, he's not on the bench even for West Brom, shame. I wanted to watch that match.

Whatever, we have won our first three league matches comfortably which is more than any of our immediate rivals can say, I consider this a very acceptable start of the season.

Sounds like there are serious talks of Meireles to Fenerbahce. I dunno if it's done, and when it will go down, but we are either making room for a new MC, converting Ramires and Odcar to full-time MCs, ir we've. gone crazy. Honestly, i this is A summer departure followed by Fellaini, I'd be very happy.

WTF, Meireles having a medical in Turkey, surely he's not leaving this window? Is the Turkish window still open? Are we really gonna operate with Mikel, Lamps (old, can't play every match), Romeu (still unproven, more suited to a different system), Ramires (more suited to the wing, would have to adapt or be used in a different system), and Oscar (unproven, needs to adapt to the new league, and would need to adapt to the new role which we initially projected to be a few seasons away) as our only senior players capable (somewhat) of playing in the double-pivot?

If this was the plan, why haven't we brought anyone in? Dembele, Modric and Martinez would have been great and they've all been signed. Fellaini, Witsel and Moutinho sound like possible signings, but all 3 will be expensive, the 1st two moreso because it'd be a January signing, and the latter because Porto will only accept the full release fee.

I assume we'll be signing someone since previously this was a position we needed more quality in and now we lack both quality and depth, on top of the depth issue at ST. Emenalo had had a fantastic window up until this week, which has completely baffled me. On their own, the Essien and Meireles moves make some sense, but not like this.

I know the Russian window is open differently to ours so maybe Turkish is too, though I thought that was because the Russian season started and finished at a different time. Again, maybe the Turkish does too?

I would rather keep Meireles as a rotation player but we dont really need him to be honest, Ramires is gonna play that role, as is Lampard. We've got until Lampard's contract runs out to find a quality replacement.

I view Meirles and Lamps as a pack. Lamps is the obvious starter, but neither can play 90 minutes or every match, and Meireles is good cover. I suppose all the wing additions have pushed Ramires to the double-pivot, although I'd rather he played on the right. Selling Meireles is fine, we're getting 10m for him, but losing another MC without bringing someone (Moutinho, Fellaini, Witsel please) is not fine.

I agree with you but it's not the end of the world...... we can manage on what we've got there until we get a suitable replacement.....

We'll manage, but I see this as a sacrifice of our potential performances in favor of developping and giving time to your younger players, which is fair enough. Basically, sooner or later Romeu and Oscar will have to feature in the centre, where previously Essien and Meireles would have played. Ramires will see more time in the centre too, which will give more time to Marin and Moses on the wings. Anyway, let's hope Essien comes back as his former self and that Oscar develops into the MC we've been needing. If not, I at least hope we sign an MC in summer window.

Regarding the summer window, Witsel is off the table, leaving only Moutinho and Fellaini on my wanted list. Hulk is off the table, too, but with Moses signed we were no longer in the running anyway.
