The league cup is only important for teams that don't regularly make it to European competition. The top 3 teams(regardless of who they are) see this as a hassle and don't want to risk injury. I wonder how you'll feel if Lampard or Robben gets injured in this competition

Thats just the way it goes.....and thats one of my points,it is a risk to the players to play in any game, but no club is too big or too important to be in it.And the only club to demean the League cup is Arsenal.....Other clubs may play reserves or young players.....thats up to them for whatever reasons but they dont slag it off......but if you have a big enough squad then why not go for it.....as i said it is used as a poor excuse so fans of "big" clubs dont ask the manager or directors..."Hey.....why dont we have sufficient players to compete in these competitions?"........

No. If Watford don't make the final they don't make the UEFA cup.
And the league cup is crap, that's why youth teams play in it. It's meaningful to teams that can't make european comps without it.

You know, 2 years ago, Chelsea wouldn't have had the players to compete in the carling cup.
Chelsea would be in a position worse than Leeds if Roman didn't save your asses.
You can only brag about earned success, not purchased success.
As much as I hate United, atleast they earned every penny of the money they spent on their Carling Cup team.

So you expect every team to play their first team in the CC? So you expect a club to play their first 11 in the CC, FA Cup, Premiership, and Champions League/UEFA Cup and for these players to play in Internationals? They have to be rested and the Carling Cup is a good competition to rest their players. You think Mourinho would play a strong team if he had a youth setup at Chelsea? He would be doing the same as Man Utd and Arsenal but he can't since there are no youths at Chelsea. So you're saying that Wenger is demeaning the competition because he actually puts out a young team that can BEAT a few premiership teams?

Actually I don't think Arsenal fans are that dissappointed with the loss. I mean to lose 1-0 to an experience Man Utd team is a good result. I think managers are just being selective of which competition they want to succeed in. I mean would you be proud if the only trophy Chelsea lifted was the Carling Cup?

Actually we aren't that disppointed that we're out of it. That's why we fielded all those really young players. The fact that our youngsters only lost 1-0 due to a mistake by a 17 year old in the 1st minute and then were able to concede no more goals is really an uplifter for them. The F.A Cup is where it's at nowadays man. I bet you Chelsea will not field the same team as they do in the Champions' League, it's just that with all the players on their roster their 2nd string team is much better than some teams' 1st string teams.

I can understand your view pede. You're old school. It's just that this competition is the LEAST important out of all the other ones. No team wants to risk injury if they have a chance to win the Premiership or CL. I mean would you consider the Liverpool season 2 years ago a success since they only won the CC?
