Carew to go free

GIANT striker John Carew will sign for Rangers — but only if they qualify for the Champions League. The 6ft 6ins Norway star is out of favour at Spanish club Valencia and will be allowed to leave for FREE.

Gers boss Alex McLeish is desperate to bring in a penalty box predator and Carew — who faced Scotland last week — fits the bill.

But the deal for the 24-year-old will die if the Ibrox men lose against FC Copenhagan tomorrow night.

However, Euro success will pave the way for a final round of signing talks in Spain.

Carew has five years left on his Valencia deal and will seal a pay-off with his side today.

French club Lyon are also sniffing about the hitman after they lost

Brazilian star Sonny Anderson to Spanish side Villareal.

Yeah it would be great but I don't see it happening. Rangers need a big player to deal with the likes of BOO BOO and you don't get much bigger than Carew

Carew is not a nice player, maybe the worst Striker in the last 10 years , in Valencia.

Yes he scored 2 goals vs Arsenal but that was his best match in3 years so is not his typical match

Last season 8 goals in 35 matches
in 2001-2002 1 goal ! in 15 matches

what a nice striker !! eh?

Valencia needs a man than can score at least 15-20 goals per season. and Carew is very far from that.

Carew is good player and is only dangerous in the air because of his height and his wonderful headers and like people say valencia need a forward that can score alot like van nistelrooy.

IMO Carew sucks, and Valencia should definately still try going after Eto'o
