Enzo Francescoli, The Prince.

francescoli was not a finisher, neither i think he played on high level in the last decade (but i'm not sure of that)... because if you talk about players before 1996, i have to mention the most letal striker between 1989 and 1992-93: JEAN-PIERRE PAPIN!!! (curiously, he played with francescoli in marseille). he scored so many wonderful goals

Are we talkin about best finishers as in goal ratios or most spectacular finishes?

If latter, I have to say Baggio.

that's funny, looking in the previous pages of this thread, only 2 person mentionned trezeguet... (:/)

maybe he deserved more votes, i think he is already the best scorer ever for juventus (i mean he is the player who scored most goals for juventus)

it's been mentioned, apparently I have to mention again

a lot of those names you mentioned are world class players, legends, etc

but when it comes to clinical finishing... no chance

JARDEL

This guy even scored with his ass. Evertyime this guy would be close to the ball near the goal... it was in. I never saw NOTHING like him. Unreal, really.

and Jardel wasn't even you're typical one-dimensional finisher (like RVN), he scored some great goals that required a lot of technique, and even a few crackers from outside the box. I can't wait to see him back in action this season with Beira-Mar!

Del Piero scored most goals for Juventus.

i'm guessing that's a recent photo of him... he looks a lot leaner. He was never anything like his former self at Bolton, hopefully he'll rekindle that spark.

There is no question about it. Ronaldo is the best finisher to ever play the game. But if we don't count aliens, its some player from earth.

Ronaldo Luis Nazário de Lima

Years -- Club -- Apps (goals)

94/96 - PSV - 56(55)
96/97 - Barcelona - 49(47)
97/02 - Inter - 66(50)
02/? - Real Madrid 181(114)
TOTAL - 412(324)

yeah, he just signed with Beira-Mar (newly promoted to Portuguese Liga) less than a month ago. I guess his weight is still an issue, but they've been working him pretty hard and from what we've been reading, his progress is better than expected. He even scored two goals in a recent friendly.

Yeah Del Piero is tos socrer of all times, he did it this year i thonk

Jrdel, why he didnt play in any NT (Brazil,Portugal)

he did, he played for Brazil several times...not much success though. He would have no doubt played more if he'd played for a Spanish or Italian team.

There's one more reason for him not playing more for Brazil: that team does not conform to his style of play. Thing with Jardel is you got to have the whole team playing for him and it usually works.
Brazil would never play for a guy who can't dribble - brazilian supporters would booh him out of the pitch.
