Benfica vs Lazio [P] + [R]

If we cant beat Lazio home or away we werent gonna do anything good in the CL anyway IMO.

This team playing like today (majorly the defense) has no class to play in the Champions League like that Porto fan said, its sad but true. I wouldnt like to see Benfica getting 5-0 or heavier defeats in the CL but thats what we would get if we were to defend like this against teams like Real, Juve, Man Utd, etc.

Beside that we dont have many options to rotate the squad (the same 11 cant play 2 games every week)

I hope we get some more players to strenghten the squad, improve our teamplay and the defense and next year maybe we can go play with the big guns. We need a World class playmaker bad tho Rui Costa come backkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.

I count 3 misses from Claudio Lopez and one from Corradi, before Lazio scores the goal...

In the end Benfica deserves to loose, Lazio were clearly stronger and better team ,despite theyr bad physical condition ( Benfica started this season a lot way ahead).

But Benfica will find other great teams in UEFA Cup : ValEncia, Barcelona, Mallorca, Liverpool, Newcastle, Dortmund, AEK, Sporting, Bolongna, etc...i think this year UEFA Cup will be a lot STRONGER then last year edition

Did i notice there some kind of envy, or is it just me? It seems that last year UEFA Cup didn't have great teams , why u and some other guys around here that don't like Porto have always to say that we conquer the trophies in an easy way than the other teams?? Here's some teams that played UEFA Cup last year: Hertha, Leeds, Chelsea, Liverpool, Panathinaikos, AEK, Celtic, PSG, Parma, Lazio, Lens, Lyon, Stuttgart, Celta and of course the great FC Porto... now tell me, where are the easy teams?

the last Uefa cup game i remember from Benfica they had a home defeat by 2-0 against a semi-professional team from Finland...so what's the point of saying this season's Uefa cup is more hard? like that last time Benfica will probably be eliminated by one of those sh**y teams that no one knows about in one of the first rounds

Yeah, and FC Porto defeat a lot of them : Denizlispor, polónia Warzawa, etc...

Sh!t, I'd LOVE it if Benfica had to play Sporting in the first round of UEFA! That's at least one team who's ass I know we can kick!

Same attitude we had last year in the UEFA Cup...
But honestly, if Benfica can't beat a team like Boavista(Which BTW, finished just barely in the top 10 last season), then how will they beat a team that has boosted their squad with numerous signings? Benfica need to learn to focus on taking every opponent seriously rather then just assume they can "kick" their ass. It's that attitude which rages havoc on a team.

It's IMPOSSIBLE...they only could meat at 1/4 finals. UEFA laws : two teams at the same country cannot destroyd themselfs in early stages. BTW it was Camacho who said that Benfica still gonna face GREAT European teams , despite their defeat of Champions League :

Oops missed by two goals, but it has been a long time since that game...

but my memory is going a litle bit longer : i'm remembering a game that ends 7-1, for the Portuguese League , but i really can't remember what was the team that CRUSH Benfica in that day
