Yes that Super Dragoes claque is pretty disgusting. And I've read from Portistas that they're the best claque in Portugal . Vergonha. A magical European night, one we haven't had for a while, and these supporters will be in the stad. That just makes me.. like shinji said.. depressed.

I've also taken a bashing since FCP's UEFA Cup win. Unfortuantely, since then, I've come to disrespect the fans and the club a lot more. I can't help it.

Anyways on the game front, like shinji said, Simao and Tiago will have to show up. Not to mention Miguel, the man who dominates the right side of the field both defensivley and attacking wise. Another man that we will need to show up, is Zlatko Zahovic. The guys is facking world class on his day, and I think he may be critical to our success.


BTW, Dani. Since Tomo Sokota's transfer, I also 'kind of' support Dinamo Zagreb, and post at a fan site. As far as I know Sokota was a legend for you guys.


PS, where can I watch this facking match?! No RTPi, no RAI, no TLN, no SIC internacional? WTF?

Sokota is a great player indeed....shame about all his terrible luck with injuries. He has the skills, size, and finishing ability to be one of Europe's elite strikers.

He'll have his time to shine sooner or later I'm sure.

Benfica had a good first half, not like the one in Rome, but a good one.

The european experience, the lack of fitness of a couple of crucial players (Tiago and Geovanni), the lack of team play (Petit and Tiago didn't help the defence as it was required) and mostly, the loneliness of Fehér upfront dictated what I feared: a 1-0 loss that would thrash the players' morale for the upcoming matches.

Lopez's entrance in the game was terrific. Tried to chip Moreira twice in the first few minutes, and almost scored early.

Roger's entrance didn't bring many new things to the game. Obviously gave a bit more freshness to the offensive line, but Italians are aces when it concerns defending.

This is the Italian football: they "give" the dominance of the game to the opponent, limit theirselves to counter-attack, and with 3/4 opportunities score 1/2 goals.

The keepers were in fantastic form. Mainly Peruzzi, but Moreira was also gave some show. Peruzzi stopped EVERY shot, brilliantly, even when he was phisically limited. And if it wasn't Moreira, Benfica could have lost the game for 2-0 or 3-0.

Lazio's defensive mistakes from the first leg were covered up, Stam, Mihajlovic and Couto were definately more organized tactically and as a whole. And I haven't seen many people get pass the Catenaccio. In fact, I haven't seen anyone...

Let's hope we have better luck on the UEFA Cup's draw on Friday...

(And some people here will, or are, depending the the time my message is posted, starting to shout all around, celebrating Benfica's loss, not Lazio's win.)

But I have to say, I can't be more proud of my team for its attitude of not giving up, and its fans, especially Diabos Vermelhos, who shouted for our team from the start to the end, even when the Round's final result was done. And also to the general public, who didn't leave the stadium before the final whistle, like it's so usual in our country.

about the game...well, what can you say. this was always going to be a very difficult round. We got the toughest possible opponent in the draw and we did what we could under our current circumstances. Benfica doesn't deserve any criticism here, we played hard and sooner or later we'll have our day in the sun again.

Benfica played well until Lazio goal! They surely deserved a goal and they wasted a lot of chances! Then as time was running out they got tired, and mentally fragile! Too bad... i really thought they could do it! Better luck on UEFA CUP!
