Personally Im a huge fan of Batman series (Though I admit the movies were kinda lame (especially 3 and 4).
The cartoon series really did get back to the roots of the show and thats why I enjoyed it so much.
looks like this movie will avoid the last 4 and start the franchise with a fresh start.

I've never really been into comic book/superhero films (or comic books and superheros for that matter) but I have heard that this is a cut above the rest so I will probably see it.
Christian Bale really doesnt look right to play Bruce Wayne IMO though (![:\](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/vb/fslash.gif ":\ :\")

I loved X-Men and Spider-Man cartoons when I was younger. I saw Batman too, but Marvel was much much better, the movies are so much better too........

According to Hakeem (and Hakeem's opinion is definitive as far as I'm concerned) the original Batman films are really good. They certainly appeart to have good casts, and Tim Burton is an awesome director.
They can hardly be worse than Marvel rubbish like Hulk and X-Men anyway.

Sounds like it, but everyone really praised the Spiderman films when they came out, but when I saw them I thought they were really bad, so I'm not holding out too much hope.

I didn't find Spiderman really bad, thought they were watchable popcorn flicks, that's all. But some people rate Spiderman 2 as a masterpiece... and that piece of trash X2 is currently in IMDB top 250...

Yup lol - only good thing about that film was Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen. One of the worst films I have ever gone to the cinema to see.
Spiderman is good but a bit overrated. X Men (while not a fan) I found to be enjoyable.
DC hasnt had too many "Big" movies. Guess the first 2 Batmans and first 2 Supermans were very big while the rest were just from kinda pathetic (Superman 3) to completely laughable (Superman 4 and Batman 4)
This Batman could well be the best super hero movie of all time. (I actually dont know what could be the best super hero movie ever.......maybe Superman 2 or Spiderman 2 im guessing)

This Batman will hopefully be good and not disapointing, however I think the new Superman film will also be good and is already being underatted. Brian Singer is good, X-men is fantastic as is The Usual Suspects and I am sure there will be no disapointment here. Batman Begins has high expectations from a lot of people so lets hope it lives up to them. I personally think it will turn out pretty good after watching the trailers.

spiderman2 was much better than the xmen movies.this batman seems to be different from the others in the sense that Gotham city is not as "big".

Spider-Man movies were good, X-men 1 was okay, X2 was fantastic. I agree with the post about Singer, Superman should not disappoint. Singer is a budding mastermind.

No, they are no Citizen Kane. But they weren't meant to be. Some good action, some good one-liners, and a balance between cinema and comic book.
The new Batman film looks great. The dark atmosphere has returned. I'm particularly glad of that because Batman & Robin destroyed all of that.

Maybe some people say they were trash because they didn't enjoy them.
I didn't think Spiderman 1 was that good, I don't think it was trash but I didn't enjoy it that much, so I never bothered to see the second. X-men on the other hand was a lot better, especially the second, which is underrated in my opinion.

Spider-Man 1 and 2 definately aren't the best superhero films ever made, the CGI toally destroyed the films in my opinion. I could clearly see it was an animated character flying around the city, no believability at all. The story was also weak in both, nothin campared to Superman 1 & 2 and Batman 1 & 2.
