Spalletti: Inter Milan clash not decisive for Roma

Roma coach Luciano Spalletti insists tonight's clash with Inter Milan won't be decisive for the title chances of either club.
"This clash will not be decisive for the title," stated Spalletti during a Press conference at their Trigoria training base.

"There are too many games left before the end of the season. After all, we have only just started the campaign."

While the capital outfit have set the pace, Inter have struggled following a loss at Sporting Lisbon and a draw with Sampdoria.

"Our start was better than Inter's, but they are sure to be very angry after their recent disappointments," added the Coach.

"That fact does not favour us at all. As a result, I'm sure that they will use that anger against us in the tie.

"It would be important for us to win, it would prove that we are on the same level, although I still think they have something more than us.

"Tomorrow's match can end with any result, they want to react to their difficult phase and we want to show that we deserve to be at the top," continued Spalletti.

"During the Super Cup Final in August [lost 4-3] we played an excellent game for an hour, then we were outclassed by Inter, but Roma have definitely improved since that match."

Go Roma. You guys can win the title if we dont. But being -3 from Inter is just too fantastic

I think it'll be a good game today. I don't think I can predict a scoreline because both teams have shown they can play some great football, but at the same time they showed they aren't good with leads (Inter almost gave up a 3-0 advantage to Toni and Fiorentina, and Roma gave up the 3-0 to Inter). I think at the end of the day it'll be a one goal game, but a high scoring result. 3-2, or 4-3 for the lucky winner.

I still remeber the game last year(Totti's goal what a hit "tak a bow son"), so iam not missing this one for the world.

I think it will be a good open game.

Mancini to give Roma the lead and inter to come back and win 3-1.

Sorry about the simply thread title. :fool:

Would be great, if someone of mods would change the title on that, which the Milan supporter posted. :rockman:

I couldn't watch the game, but Viera is an idiot. According to the Live play by play Viera's first yellow card was for protesting a call to the referee. That, in my opinion, is ridiculous, us fans can protest all we want, but if you're a player, you should know better than to wine to the referee. The referee isn't going t go back on his decision, so why protest and get a yellow card for nothing?

Juventino is right though, 2nd red in the first 4 games, 1 in the ECC and 1 in the Serie A. If he wants to be useful he has to stop getting all these cards because if I was Mancini I would find an alternative because he does have the options on the bench.

As for the penalty miss, I would of thought Ibra would of scored, but, I guess it wasn't his day. I'm surprised Roma didn't equalize soon after because a lot of teams score a goal soon after a missed penalty. It usually gives them enough momentum to do something, but, I guess it wasn't to be this time.

From the Live audio feed I was listening to it sounded like a good game to watch. They're going to show it on tape delay in 4 hrs from now, going to watch it and see how excited it was. Not to mention I want to see the goal and see the penalty miss :).

Forza Inter :)
