Spalletti: Inter Milan clash not decisive for Roma
Roma coach Luciano Spalletti insists tonight's clash with Inter Milan won't be decisive for the title chances of either club.
"This clash will not be decisive for the title," stated Spalletti during a Press conference at their Trigoria training base.
"There are too many games left before the end of the season. After all, we have only just started the campaign."
While the capital outfit have set the pace, Inter have struggled following a loss at Sporting Lisbon and a draw with Sampdoria.
"Our start was better than Inter's, but they are sure to be very angry after their recent disappointments," added the Coach.
"That fact does not favour us at all. As a result, I'm sure that they will use that anger against us in the tie.
"It would be important for us to win, it would prove that we are on the same level, although I still think they have something more than us.
"Tomorrow's match can end with any result, they want to react to their difficult phase and we want to show that we deserve to be at the top," continued Spalletti.
"During the Super Cup Final in August [lost 4-3] we played an excellent game for an hour, then we were outclassed by Inter, but Roma have definitely improved since that match."
