GUNNERS TARGET ARGENTINE

Arsenal are reported to be pondering a move for Argentine midfielder Javier Mascherano.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is thought to be considering the River Plate star as a possible replacement for Patrick Vieira should he leave for Real Madrid.

Mascherano is regarded as one of the best young players in Argentina after helping River Plate to win their domestic championship last season.

The 20-year-old, who recently broke into the international set-up, also impressed at last month's Copa America.

Mascherano is a tough-tackling midfielder and would be an ideal option to take over from Vieira at Highbury if he does leave.

Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna are also keen on Mascherano as they see the South American as a possible successor to veteran midfielder Mauro Silva.

Deportivo are believed to have tabled a €6 million bid for the player, although River Plate president Jose Maria Aguilar insists he has received no approaches for Mascherano.

"I have had no contact that is important," said Aguilar.

Yeah, that's probably the second greatest goal I've ever seen, behind only Bergkamp's goal against Argentina at WC98.

ah cr@p, that was a beauty. just like winterburn the season before. winterburn made it 3-2 arsenal late in the game, and silvinho made it 2-2 also late in the game. (but i mite be totally wrong so correct me on it if i am)

He isn't loyal, if he was, he would have came out and rejected any claims of him thinking about a move. You don't need, of all people, a captain, who is thinking of moving to another club.

First of all i haven't actually seen fabregas play a whole game i've only seen him run past like 5 defenders twisting and turning then backhealing to set up an assist in a reserves game i wanted to know how good he really is, could some-one give me the info??? :D

and second i wanted to know how flamini performed in the friendly against ajax.......... thanking in advance

Flamini's passing was exceptional, good tackling and looks to be a good replacement should Paddy leave come the new season.

Cesc is awesome, very composed young lad. I saw him in the River Plate game. Good control, very commanding.
Oh. And Cesc's mullet.. :rockman:

Apparently Real have made an 18million pound bid for Vieira if this is accepted i would be a bit annoyed if we are going to sell him it would have to be 25mill+

18 million for Paddy is like wanting to go on a holiday with everything included (tour guides, free breakfast, lunch and dinner, free whores and all) for 18 pounds.
Makes no sense. At all.
