hollowi : So you won't watch a movie on TV for more than half an hour ;)
Agreed you can't read text off a screen @60 hz but for gaming and zoning out watching the box, it's fine.
There's a problem with the installer. Install to the default directory and then setting program works fine.(all covered a couple of times already, you could probably change the registry keys instead of reinstalling)

Seriously, are you an EA rep? If not you gotta try and filter those ads out a bit more.

Football Fusion? The coupling of a bug ridden mess of a manager game(going by track record) with a decidedly average football game. Excuse me while I contain my enthusiasm.

OTB? Lemme guess, it lets you create brilliance. Sorry, there's no brilliance there, just a half-arsed cop-out by the FIFA team. Actually no, it is brilliant. The programmers, realising they have pathetically shoddy AI a couple of months from release, come up with the idea "let's make the player control the AI runs, that way they'll be too busy trying to focus on 2 people at once to notice that there is no AI !".
It's a stop gap solution to fix their programming deficiencies which their marketting team has brilliantly turned into "feature".

A game is ****e to you and in need of alot of work if the menus have playstation symbols? (keyboard and controller work fine for me in menus)
I think a football game is ****e and in need of alot of work if the best thing you can say about it is that it is better than FIFA03.

Perth you probably suppose I don't know **** or then you yourself don't. PC monitors and TV screens are based on different technologies and you watch TV screen 5 metres away while watching PC monitor half a metre away. And 60 hz/vsync = 60 fps, which is oh too low. Anything under 72 seems a bit laggy.

Now that we've changed topics to Frames Per Second why don't you take a look at FIFA's awesome FPS rate:rolleyes:

Yes even on a television set, which normally runs at 25fps, you can see FIFA's FPS stuttering badly...

Excuses excuses...

Wrong. Computer monitors and televisions both use CRT technology, the only difference being the TV actually has 1/2 the refresh rate of a TV (progressive scan). Also the flickering image of a 60hz monitor is much more noticable from 10m away.

60 fps is "oh too low"? Don't wanna call you an FPS whore or anything but 60fps is plenty for smooth animation and great visuals. There is no way you can reasonably say that the best console games are running "oh too slow".
Like philler, I wish I could get 60fps outta the fifa demo. Fraps is telling me I'm getting 45-50fps but the screen is judderin' all over the place.

Doh. I meant that while computer monitors draw every frame, TV just fades a screen over another so it's smooth at low FPSs. I think you know that TV broadcasts are @ 24 FPS (or around there), but still it runs perfectly smoothly. Ok, 60 FPS is tolerable but not at 60 hz. It's just painful to watch 60 FPS.

And if you look TV 10 metres away you'll notice no flickering. If you look it at 10cm, you'll definitely notice it. Probably this is due to the difference in the blend mode.

The games are the better, the higher FPS you have. Also you gain more control over the game. Now I have to leave to watch a UCL game.

Television broadcasts are always 25 FPS, and it's a known fact that the human eye cannot detect anything over 60 FPS, or something like that, so it doesn't really matter.

Go and watch your UCL game, it might make you realise what real football is...

BTW folks PES3 PC is out 21st November now, instead of 14th... :(

Well... I'm glad I said I hadn't made my mind yet. The first full version was working but was bitchy, the controller profiles didn't stay, etc.. But anyway it was delightful. The patched version, well, I have to say it's the Heaven of Footballing, although the demo was the 4th level of footballing hell. It excels FIFA in every single aspect, in my opinion even the graphics -- only thing EA has is the license (which doesn't really matter as you can download a patch to PES). Actually, only thing EA has are the changing banners :o And It's not worth hours of agony :p
