25 mil? I assume pound sterling, since it's you ... who do you imagine is stupid enough (and rich enough) to pay that for a player who's being frozen out of his club?

You dont have to be a "rich" football club to afford a 25m player these days - Tottenham, Everton and even Southampton (thanks to the players leaving) all have that kind of money, and I would have thought some clubs abroad would be interested too.

£25M would smash the record fee paid by any of those clubs ...

and they did smash their transfer record! £28M! wow ... for Roberto Mártinez's sake, I hope Everton's big (crazy) money gamble pays off ...

I really don't like this. A talented young player with a proven track record in the Prem, with lots of upside and all the physical gifts, who is a great weapon off the bench, HG, a fan of the club and who has never been given a proper chance in the team sold while we stock on low-yield players across the field. We don't need the money, anyway. The only way I'd feel fine with this is if we now get Pogba. Still, Bamford is far from ready to feature for us so we're gonna have to sub Torres and Drogba with new players, too. God, Costa better hit the ground running.

It did seem like Lukaku didn't have the best attitude and wasn't willing or able to fight for a spot. I'm just not sure that we'd be worse off in the alternate universe where we passed on Costa and let Lukaku lead the line.
