MoM = Donovan and the whole back four for the US including the GK.

Casey should be in rugby. This squad needs a lethal finisher. Other then that I'm proud of this squad especially after everyone tried to rip them a new a$$hole. Oh yea and BRASIL did us a HUGH FAVOR today.

Italians = (H) SUCK IT!

I said it before and I'm saying it again.

People wonder how come Egypt -African Champions- who defeated Italy and outplayed Brazil, could be struggling with teams like Rwanda, Zambia and Algeria. This is why. They don't play seriously unless it's a big game.

Congrats USA, well deserved win. I knew the USA would win.

Congrats to USA and Brazil, fully deserved. Hopefully this spells the end of Dossena, Zambrotta, Pepe, and Toni in the national side. It would be great if we just axed Lippi, and started fresh. The U-21 would have put in a more inspired performance than our fossilized national team. Surely, Cassano, with his inventiveness, might have provided more than our scrub team.

yes, yes, and yes ... well, Simone Pepe may or not get the axe from me (i.e. keep him as an option from the bench; it's either him or Franco Semioli) ... Gilardino would have to go too for me (he's just not good enough for the highest levels) ...

apart from bringing in Fantantonio, other additions need to include Marco Motta, Fabiano Santacroce, Mario Balotelli, Giampaolo Pazzini, possibly Sebastian Giovinco based on talent ... and maybe also have another creative player like Rosinaldo (and/or even Miccoli?) to call upon from the bench ... Santon is already there, and he should probably be getting starts ... this discussion will go on for a while ...

LOL...I CANNOT BELIEVE that we, by some miracle, made it through. Of course this is a meaningless tournament with only 3 legit teams to begin with, but still, Italy should be completely embarrassed.

Forza Suarez! (ps brotha can you spare a dime?)

I have an easy solution, just promote the entire U-21 team to the senior side. If I have to watch Italy lose, I'd rather it happen with young players who play with some inspiration.

I'd right more, but I think that if I did that, I'd write an endless post. So much I need to get off my mind.

nah i like usa, but i hate the american invasion here :icon_spin:

OK, Bradley can keep his job. (Y)

Unbelievable. Heading into today's games, it seemed that there was literally a 0.01% chance of the US going through. Just stunning.

My player ratings:

Guzan - 7 (he was solid filling in for Howard; poor Tim will probably be back in the net against Spain - he only plays against the big teams)

Bornstein - 6 (actually not that bad today, although I lost track of how many crosses Egypt sent in from their right side of the field)
Onyewu - 8 (it was a losing strategy for Egypt to keep crossing, though, as the Gooch gets everything in the air)
DeMerit - 8 (some great tackles)
Spector - 8 (great cross on Dempsey's goal, good passing out of the back, excellent defensively)

Clark - 6 (quietly had a solid game)
Bradley - 7 (tremendous work on the second goal)
Donovan - 8 (best player on the field, hands down)
Dempsey - 6 (redeemed himself by getting the decisive goal)

Davies - 6 (good effort, lots of running)
Altidore - 5 (I still think he can be much, much better than this)

Donovan MOTM, but I think Spector also deserves a lot of credit.
