Maybe Wisconsin just has great ballots. We just draw lines in for the candidate we want with a #2 pencil, then feed it through a glorified scantron. I really don't know why every state doesn't use this. Touch screens are obviously rigged, and this way there's a paper trail.

Exactly, it's the same here (doesn't take more than 2 mins).

Illinois was really complicated.

Yeah, it seems weird that everyone doesn't use this method. I voted for probably 9 candidates, wrote in one, and 2 ballot initiatives. 3 minutes tops.

We vote for every race separately. We vote for President, separately from Senator, separate from Congressman, separate from Governor, separate from State Senator, separate from State Assemblyman, separate from State Attorney General, separate from Mayor, separate from County Executive, separate from Alderman, separate from District Attorney, separate from Register of Deeds, etc.

Not all of those are on the ballot this time. Governor, Mayor, County Executive, Attorney General are not for me.

Not a parliamentary system.

You can vote a straight ticket though.

I personally want the straight ticket button banned, it encourages ignorance.

Just back from a Comparative Politics seminar where I had to sit through 20 minutes of the professor talking about how giddy he was for Obama's impending victory. Judging from other students' reactions, I'm pretty sure I'm the only Republican in that seminar.

Oh, what the hell, they deserve it. After 8 years of Bush, they're entitled to celebrate.

A part of me is hoping for a total Obama blowout victory. Just to drive the point for GOP leaders that this sh*t is serious. I don't want them to be able to blow off this defeat and say "Oh, we only lost by a couple of states."

Took me five minutes a couple of years ago to vote, i just got dodgy looks from locals clearly attempting to peer-pressure me into going for Labour.

I didn't.

Right now - NC Senate
60% Kay Hagan (D)
36% Elizabeth Dole (R)
04% Christopher Cole (L)

Get in there. Hold on to it, Kay. Kick that bitch's ass.

so far Obama holding steady in north Carolina Florida and Ohio...McCain seems to have the early edge in Virginia but the 5 most populous counties in virginia have not reported yet. McCain takes Oklahoma, tennesse, and south Carolina
The electoral count so far:
Obama: 77
McCain: 34
270 to win

Bobby

The Legend
Kay Hagan (57%) wins her senate race over Elizabeth Dole (41%) and Christopher Cole (3%).

Ding-dong, the witch is dead.

This is the first time since 1952 that neither a Dole or Bush will hold a high office.

North Carolina is the key right now. We can call the election early if it goes to Obama. All Obama needs is the obvious Obama states plus Ohio and NC to get to 270. He doesn't need Ohio, Virginia, Florida, Colorado, New Mexico, or Nevada if he can get NC and Iowa.

So far I'm spot on with my predictions Georgia just went for McCain as I expected it as always gonna be a long shot.

ShiftyPowers

I still think Georgia is within reach. I don't trust any prediction that only has 22k votes from Atlanta counted, a city with 5 million people, and hasn't counted any of the early votes yet, which broke for Obama.

Ohio projected for Obama. McCain probably needs to win California in order to be President. Not, too, likely.
