Horrible it plays the same as FIFA 07 and graphics wise still looks like FIFA 07 with some minor extra details i was hoping that FIFA 08 would be actually half decent but i was wrong.

Hopefully PES2008 will be good and Konami didn't slack off and that PES2008 doesn't end up becoming PES 6.1 just like FIFA 07.1 or so called FIFA 08.

From vids that i've seen PES2008 looks exactly the same and that cut in trick that Ronaldo and Quaresma do looks retarded, very lame IMO.

just gonna go and kill myself

At least Pro Evo feels like a football game without the fancy trick **** bull**** so there is still hope.

Hmm wonder if 2K Sports will ever make a football game?

You summed it up pefectly with your first post in this topic Vlado.

Let's hope pes2008 will give your €500 (£338) graphics card the workout it deserves. :amika:

And I hope you don't buy fifa '08 for the pc,it's time for us pc gamer's to stand up to these inept buffons ( no offence to inept buffoons) to show we are not going to take anymore of their silly ps2 garbage and we need to hurt them where it hurts them the most.

Don't hold your breath! PES are never known for their gfx. PES 2008 for the 360 still looks like a PS2 game. PES6 on 360 was attrocious, it didnt belong on a next gen machine and now I see PES 2008 on 360 and I want to send a letter to Konami bashing their lazyness and indifference. I was hoping for a next gen PES but no... They don't care about gfx, audio, presentation. Fifa 2008 on the 360 looks outstanding. It's totally different from PC. With that 500 euro gfx card you might as well buy a 360 and there you go. Trust me, PES looks PS2 bland on the PS3, 360, imagine on the PC! It's apparent that EA have the 360 and PS3 as priorities. Konami doesn't care. As long as people are happy w/ good gameplay, why work hard and add features, improve gfx, audio, presentation? A few gameplay tweeks and the zombies will be happy so there you go!

Fifa 2008 on 360, PS3 will be King this year according from what I've seen, heard and read. Konami will eventually wake up when EA leave them in the dust. I mean, EA already outsells Konami by a huge amount. And this is coming from someone who doesn't like EA. I am objective in these matters. I just want the better game and this year it'll be FIFA. Oh, and I consider WE9 my favorite footy game of all time so that tells you something about my nonfanboyism.

no fancy tricks no fun, i dont watch Man U matches if Ronaldo isn't playing, same goes for Porto, Barcelona and many other teams. no silky skills - no fun .

I agree about pes2008 unfortunately, but this is what it boils down to with the fifa 'next-gen'

If it turns out to be awesome but we on the pc are stuck with a load of old piss then we have to kick up a massive fuss about it.

We can't let ea get away with it.

PES is very unrealistic with their robotic running, tap button = ball going out to the top tier of stadium, and players moving in only 16 directions. But let me not get into that debate. That said, Fifa 2007 was bad as well but showed us what the new engine is capable of. Within 2 or 3 years of EA building on that new next gen physics engine, it'll be absolutely unbeatable.....unless Konami start caring about making changes, improvements, like fixing gfx, overhaiuling audio, presentation, fixing the dreadful online play (EA is super superior online), etc.

NEXT GEN machines demnand next gen everything! No need to pick gameplay over graphics anymore with next gen hardware. There is more than enough room for both. The gameplay over graphics issue is a last gen issue. It'll be lame for anyone to bring that up this gen!

which console is better PS3 or Xbox 360 ???

Gamewise, Onlinewise, bang for the buck wise = 360
Hardware wise = PS3 (360 has issues with hardware failure).

I much prefer the 360. It's game exclusives are exceptional and numerous. Xbox LIVE is superior to PS3's online service. Down the road when PS3 costs less and has some good games it'll be worth to buy (in about 2 years). For now, the 360 is the machine. With the 3 year automatic warranty and games like Bioshock, Alan Wake, Halo 3, Halo Wars, Mass Effect, Devil May Cry, Splinter Cell, etc. exclusives and almost all the games the PS3 has including GTA4 (only with exclusive online content) + Xbox Live! It's a nobrainer. Put simply the 360 delivers now while the PS3 is still a promise for the future.

What do you agree with PES unfortunantly isn't that basically being a fanboy?

Thats what I don't get many guys knows how little they work on current gen yet they still stick to FIFA despite slagging it off, they wont give PES a go because 'its not licenced'

Both games are amazing and have their ups and downs and both are good to play for different reasons.

Plus PES is giving next gen type gfx for PC so isnt that good, improved gameplay and all sorts.....if its going to be better than FIFA08 why not play it?

DAMMIT SOMEONE BEAT ME TO THE PUNCHLINE :P

Hate the demo.... it really is 07 2.0, id honestly rather pay $20 just to update fifa 07 with new rosters and kits.

Still the same AI bugs i feel, team AI back off the ball rather then try and intercept it. Cut scenes are 100% the same, graphics are about the same IMO, faces look more real, but you dont see faces 80% of the time. Animation... no great improvement i feel. Carnt really watch animation thought when the game is going 2000 miles per hour. Less lag, but thats because ITS CURRENT GENERATION, seriously EA.... One thing that bugs me about Fifa 07 and 08 is the damn 2D crowds and stewards... surly EA can think up something more lifelike, **** last time i saw a footie match, the crowd wasnt full of 2D cutouts.

Anyway final word... this is a $40 Roster upgrade with some MINOR tweaks.

Where is there a PES demo i can try.

You guys have to understand that EA don't care about the current gen, it wont be long till they stop making them. FIFA08 on the 360 is a totally different game and thats what their aim is.

I suprised Konami have made an effort with the PC version, despite being so lazy last year.

Disagree with you there Madridista,

A medium spec pc could handle the next-gen version of fifa probably.

Now, them with a low spec pc could lower the graphical settings so that it would run on their pc but it would obviously end up looking like fifa as it is present on the pc.

But obviously you would wan't the next-gen version gameplay, even if it mean't to sacrifice the graphical quality.

Where is the justice with ea's decision regarding the pc and fifa '08.

yes i agree GFX of PES series hasn't evolved much. FIFA looks very close to real life football on TV, but somehow it feels awkward when you play it. After seeing
few gameplay vids on youtube and gametrailer I thought to myself this looks like a decent solid gameplay unlike previous instalments of FIFA series, which it probably is but only on next gen consoles like xbox and ps3. I would rather spend my money on a good Graphics card for my PC than Xbox and Im not even talking about hefty PS3 - £400 f@ck that.

ok here is what I think;

- I think they tried to make the game harder in all aspects. The manual passing and through passes and crossing make it more fun and harder.

- The cpu AI is much better with more variations in attacking and with more solid defense.

- I like the changes in commentary, especially the more frequent name announcing when you score or when your goalkeeper makes a save.

- The graphics seem better with the faces, just a little bit tho.

- Sounds are good as usual

- No big changes in graphics section.

- The tactics creator and more varied tactic layouts are important. I tried changing the tactics and it worked better this time in actual gameplay.

- The shooting mechanics are different apparently. It is tougher to hit the target. No more perfect shooting.

I believe this game is better than 07 but I am not sure it is better than PES.

We will see...

What are you on about ?????

First you try and give me a spelling lesson ????

Then, you suggest i'm a fanboy :f***:

I was agreeing with dr3am3r that pes2008 doesn't look much more enhanced gameplay wise than pes 6.

EA AND KONAMI SUCK
