How do you like FIFA08 demo?

after playing for a while, how do you like that?
please tell me about your opinions, so I can translate them to the FIFA players here in China.

I think its okay

A bit too similar to FIFA 07 but i didnt really expect it to be massively different

I think the graphics have improved, especially the faces and the grass (which is now a much better shade of green!)

The game doesnt seem to lag or 'slow down' as FIFA 07 did which is definately good

In conclusion, im looking forward to FIFA 08 being released but am not expecting too many changes.

I have to agree with Carrick on most parts:

- plays like Fifa 07
- Graphics are better especially the faces which are in 2gf as you can see on my Screens in the 'template' thread.
- Commentary is nice, even the goalkeepers gets mentioned by name.
- I have to see how Fifa 08 will look to really give my opinion but the first encounter is good for me
- What I don't like sometimes is the cinematics in other words I can't see any difference comparing them to Fifa 07 except with corners and freekicks where you see the goalkeepers at close range.

What I hate as a Screenshotmaker is the text and screens showing up at moments where it's perfect to take Screens so I'm hoping somone makes a patch where you can shut off the pop-ups like this year..

I think we have a majority of similiar opinions, except that

-some of us are complaining about the key for switching players which EA changed it to Q in both "classic" and "new", I think it will take some time for FIFA players to get used to it.

-other than the goalkeepers can serve freekicks, we didn't found anything that is revolutionary comparing to FIFA07.

-AI is improved and the game seemed to be faster than FIFA07, as you said "no lag". And graphics is improved too, the game looks more "fresh".

Hello fifa community
Personally I DID NOT like the demo at all , very dissapointing with fifa this year, first af all I did not see any MAJOR changes other than the goalkeer (It looks and feels the same as fifa 07, only with new faces). The gameplay is REALLY fast (Real Football is not so fast, I personally like the spped of PES6, much better). In terms of new moves....well.....it's all the Facking same as Fifa 07, nothing new at all (I was looking forward to seen new moves and skills).
Graphics have improved a bit, but not too much. Cinematics ALL the same as Fifa 07....kind gay!!!


PS: I personally think FIFA went a step behind by not realesing this game on Current Gen as PES7 will

In conclusion I think that PES7 will kick Fifa's a55 big time now!!!, I've been a Fifa fan since 1999 and it hurt to say it but...I will not buy Fifa this year, I'll get PES7 instead.

oooooh, EA changed the switch player button ...when u defend you cant switch between players with S button...thats horrible....can you make patch to fix that problem and give us back the old button configuration

You can configure the controls yourself in the full game

no no....i mean they changed the whole configuration, mate....passing is S....swithc player is E....in the old fifas they were the same button...you know that...i play this game for a decade, man...i know what im talking

p.s.In the demo there is a menu before the match where you can change buttons...thats not the problem....i tried all options...i cant switch players when i defend...i have to use the Through ball/Switch player button....instead Pass/switch player (like old fifa-s) :s***:

exactly....im so used to that classic configuration that its hard to change my style of playing

I imagine the PC version is much different than the 360, PS3 version since those that have played it say it's very good. Totally different engine I think. Anyone confirm this? I know last years PC and 360 version were different.

We can't change that...what we can do is practise and practise and then get used to that.

I make 20-30 posts every year when new fifa comes out and then i pause till next fifa.
Well i downloaded the demo.
Just to make it clear. I play fifa games for ten years. Always buying them.
I am forced to write same words every year.
Another fifa - same fifa. I wrote somewhere else that i saw more progress in 2D (lol) games than in fifa since 2001. I just cant believe that they CANT produce something different. I have to play a game with poor graphics (all fifa, fifa 08 too, poor player models, small number of polygons, sucky ball physics) on my 500e graphics card (more expensive than ps3.. next gen... blah bla...). Bah. Thanks God for developers who actually develop games that at least look good. And thanks God for football games for mobile phones. They progressed more than fifa in last 10 years.
All other ea games are great. nba, hfl, nhl, need for speed series... But fifa is the greatest money maker so they add a couple of new features once in a decade and earn a lot of money.
Sorry guys but I am really pissed off right now after playing the demo...

Just played a game to soon to say about the game , but one thing that sticks out a mile is the Sprinting or lack of it. The animation is ok there arms and legs move as if they are sprinting and its a couple of taps of the ball in front of themselves and then a longer one but there is no speed to there runs its awful looking.

I had Herny on the ball and was tabbing the sprint button, as I said the animation looked ok but the speed of the run???? looked like he was running on wet tar.
