The good thing about that game was that we're only 5 points behind Bremen now. They haven't been all that great either this year and I bet they will concentrate on their Uefa Cup campaign if they get past Ajax.paolo-fcb;2277302 said:3rd place? I find it very hard, we're not a great team this year and I've seen Stuttgart with Bremen on saturday
There's no problem on the financial side. We could survive a year or two without CL money. The trouble: out of CL could we get new great players?????

We need to pray that our big 3 midfielders van Bommel, Owen and Schweini stay healthy for the rest of the season. We missed two of them yesterday and that was the weakest starting lineup I've ever seen. The addition of Schlaudraff and Altintop will give us more depth next season.

Well you said it, Rensing is a talent. He hasn't proved he's even good enough for the Bundesliga. He'll be 24 by the time he takes over Kahn's position and then he's rarely played a handful of first division games. That's ridiculous. They should've loaned him to some smaller first or second division team.smoove;2277398 said:Maybe Bayern should go for Markus Pröll. He's atleast as much of an asshole as Kahn is, makes him the ideal replacement.
seriously, why would Bayern sign a new GK with a talent like Rensing on the Bench?
Lucio, van Buyten and Ismael plus the young prospect Hummels. That's enough, as long as Lucio stops running forward like a headless chicken.paolo-fcb;2277385 said:a great defender
I really don't want to raid other Bundesliga clubs again but we have to follow Mario Gomesz's development. He's exactly the type of striker of striker we need (unlike Poldi who needs the space and counterattacking football to shine).paolo-fcb;2277385 said:a new striker
Owen will always give 100% in a Bayern jersey so we shouldn't even listen to any offers under 30 million. If ManU are willing to spend that much cash on him it's fine by me. It's a win-win-situation for Bayern.p.s. will Hargreaves stay with FCB? I think no, he wishes to join ManU and we've to leave him go cause it's his dream for his

It's a shame if he doesn't turn out to be class since basically every half-decent German goalie would've been out of contract next summer.
Weidenfeller would be my choice.

Yeah, you can play 3 center backs there but there's no point in that. 4-4-2 is the formation to keep especially with our solid defenders. If you add another good center back, **** will just get worse. All you will do is piss players off because you'll have Ismael and another good defender sitting on the bench. Center backs are not like midfielder and forwards... you can't just rotate them.
Brazzo-like versatility
Bayern agree terms with Hamit Altintop
Versatile midfielder Hamit Altintop will swap the royal blue of Bundesliga leaders Schalke 04 for the red of Bayern, the player has confirmed via the Wednesday edition of Sport Bild magazine. Altintop has agreed terms on a three-year deal with the reigning champions, and is likely to make the switch as of 1 July this summer.
Commented Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge: "We've reached agreement with the player. However, we can't hold detailed contract talks until Altintop's name appears on the official transfer list." The man renowned for his cannonball shot is out of contract in Gelsenkirchen at the end of the season and would move to Munich on a free transfer.
Ambitious plans
"I want to develop into a leader at Bayern," the player told Sport Bild. The Gelsenkirchen-born Turkey international, whose twin brother Halil is also on the Royal Blues' books, has made 20 top-flight appearances for Schalke so far this term, although he has come off the bench on 12 occasions and been substituted six times.
Altintop listed the reasons for choosing a switch to Bavaria. "I'd like Munich to be the platform for the next step in my career. I'm convinced I have the pace, shooting ability and tackling to perform at the highest international level."
Second new signing
Bayern boss Ottmar Hitzfeld welcomed the news of a deal with Altintop, who becomes the second new signing for next term alongside young Germany international Jan Schlaudraff. "You can compare him to Hasan Salihamidzic in terms of versatility," Hitzfeld told a news conference on Wednesday, predicting success for the 24-year-old utility man in Munich. "He's the kind of player who can hit the headlines with Bayern."

Bayern Munich are on the verge of snapping up Argentine starlet Jose Ernesto Sosa, according to reports in the German press.
The Bundesliga champions have struggled to fill the void left by Michael Ballack's transfer to Chelsea and, with Bastian Schweinsteiger plagued by poor form, have looked short of ideas and power in midfield.
Sosa is already understood to have travelled to Munich in order to finalise arrangements for a summer move to Bayern.
The Under 21 international has earned rave reviews in his Argentine homeland, after helping club side Estudiantes win the league title in 2006.
Estudiantes president Eduardo Abadie had initially ruled out the possibility of selling his most prized asset, amid rumours of interest from Benfica, Atletico Madrid and Milan.
However, Bayern are reportedly ready to part with €10million (£6.7million) as they look to strengthen ahead of next season.
Alemannia Aachen's Jan Schlaudraff and Hamit Altintop of Schalke have already agreed to join Bayern in the summer.
