Papadopoulos is only 19 give him time....I think I said this once before he will be a good player in about 3-4 years....right now he is ok.....and yes I know he won the scoring title this year but he needs more miles on his legs.....

I agree I think Salpingidis was snubbed even though he deserved a spot on the team....but that would mean leaving Nikolaidis behind..... In my opinion they should have left him behind....he's playing like *ss

dont forget also that this is papas first real season playing with actual competition and not sitting on the bench. same goes for salpingidis who is also in his first year. these 2 guys are going to be huge and the future of the nt strike force. and that guy from aigeleo, agristis, will be there as well

but for now we celebrate!

Watched game at my friends house, with his father, uncles, brothers, all 100% greek. When they scored, all hell broke loose. A young child was harmed in the aftermath, Quite a spectacle. After game, me and my friends got in car and drove around town with greek flags, honking horn, going nuts. Im 1/8 Greek, and today brought it out.

The celebrations went on and on for many hours!
I got home at 5-6 AM...

I cannot believe it!!!!!!
Although i have this feeling(the same one before every game)
i hope we can beat the Portugals and become Champions of Europe.

These days, this year, this competition, will be remembered as the greatest moments of the Greek Football History, nomatter the result of the Sunday's final....

This Euro, like every Euro since 1960 has been a celebration of and for Football of Europe...

...i just wish it could be like this in the Greek Championship,a celebration in which every one could take part and not be afraid to go to a match due to some organized hooligans who want to call themselves club fans and due to some ppl who stand behind those and support them to their ''useful work''

I hope someday these things would be just a sad memory of the past, nothing more....

cheers.

Well, I watched it on PPV of course .... even my husband sat through it all - that was his 1st ever full soccer match that he'd watched ... and he thoroughly enjoyed it ... he pretty much knows me - but he'd NEVER seen my reactions during a soccer game (or basketball etc.) ... in which case, at some point - he though I was about to have a heart-attack ... he ended up making me drink 4 glasses of booze - and since I'm not much of a drinker - well .... I got to PARTYING by the time that GOAL came in !!!!!!!!! hehe ... poor hubby - he WAS a bit shocked ... but he's getting all excited now for Sunday to arrive ... guess he had fun too :)

During several intervals - I was on the phone with my folks (who were in Greece) and my sisters (who are in the UK) ... and we'd scream and shout and then slam the phone down and resume watching the match ......

I've now calmed down a bit ....... I tried calling my son in Greece yesterday - but, couldn't get him on his cell phone ..... he was PARTYING in Omonia ...

I finally got him today :) ...... but he couldn't TALK - no VOICE left from the shouting yesterday ..... so he asked me to call back tomorrow hoping he'll have his voice back !

As for me - well ... it's tough being here during these moments ... back in Greece these were the best times in my life - between my job and everything else - sports was an outlet ...

My son expressed his love of soccer when he was about 2 yrs old - at the age of 6, I took him to Panionio (Panthers) since it was close to our home ... we were all FANATIC PAO (PANATHINAIKOS) fans :) .... he played with them all the way till he was 16 yrs old ... then at some point he was seen by Rotsa (who was coaching the PAO team at that time) and asked him to sign on with them ... damn that was soooooooo great !!! but, due a serious injury at one of his games, my son had to end his dream ... :(

Anyway, I never missed a single match of his in all those years ... and also went to most matches that PAO played too ... I've carried a huge Greek flag to Omonia and the outskirts many times - and I miss that ...... I miss having some Greeks around - I miss all that crazy fun when our teams win .... WOW ... now I'm getting teary .....

Well ....... I'll be watching PPV again on Sunday ... I'll be praying (about the only times I DO that) ... and hoping ... and wishing that our team pulls through ... but if not - I'll still be happy, as I'm sure all Greeks around the world will be ....... we've come soooooooo far ... and even though it's been a rough road - we've loved every minute of it :)

Sorry for boring you all !!!! aaaaaaacccchhhhh ...... carry on !!! :D

BRAVO re ELLADARA !!!!!!! Ante kai me ti NIKH !!! fere to gamimeno to kypello !!!!!!!!

Soanis, I totally agree with you - there have been several times when I was still back in Greece, when I couldn't go to a match, because we knew they'd be trouble ... so we'd sit home and watch it on TV - it's just not the same !!!

Ah yes, those phone calls ! LOL ...

The semi-finals cost $24.95 ... I imagine the finals would cost the same - I don't know ...

I'm trying to find a darn Greek Restaurant around this place, that might be open on Sunday - so I can celebrate (whether we win or not !), with some Greeks !!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
