FIFA 20 PC > FIFA 14 face converter, which I'm working on, will require these files:
Code:
head*.fbx
haircap*.fbx
hairlod*.fbx
hair*.fbx
face_*color.dds or color.png
face_*normal.dds or normal.png
face_*specmask.dds or spec.png
hair_*color.dds or hair_color.png
hair_*coeff.dds or hair_coeff.png
I'm still not sure about normal and specular maps. Do we need to convert them for FIFA 14?
Also, anyone knows about eyes texture (eyes_*_textures.rx3). Do we need them for all faces? Or generic texture can be used?

AFAIK we do need eyes textures for all faces in Fifa 14 unlike in Fifa 15 and Fifa 16.
Otherwise, they will appear as green and blue checkered texture.

You must use FIFA 20 Eyes Texture
Because the old texture is incompatible with the head

Normal and specmask are not required for FIFA 14.
Hair colour files you would want to use .dds or .bmp files over .png. The .png files do not include the entire image data. They are effectively just an alpha layer. Also, have you tested the .coeff files in FIFA 14? They usually give the hair blue and green texture in-game. I can run a test for you with a PC head if you haven't.
Let me know if you need any help with testing. :)

Do you know if there are any other tools to extract files from FIFA 20 PC?
Maybe this one? https://zenhax.com/viewtopic.php?p=30273&sid=8ff71f369fe75c90e1ba9c92590b0226#p30273
Because there are some problems with FrostyTool. It usually crashes or doesn't work as expected.

To make automatic skin (vertex bone-weights) conversion from FIFA 20 to FIFA 14, all models/meshes must be extracted with skeleton.
I asked on other forum, and the guy was not able to export it completely, there were errors.

Anyone could try to export all required meshes - head, hair, haircap, hairlod, with skeleton?
Can we do this with FrostyTool?
And if we can't - anyone knows how to contact FrostyTool developer and ask him to fix it?

Normal and specmask are not required for FIFA 14.
So it's not required, but can we add it?
If I use some different texture (from PES2020 for example) - with different ears/mouth placement, can I also add my normal/spec map for this texture?
Hair colour files you would want to use .dds or .bmp files over .png. The .png files do not include the entire image data.
PNG includes all 4 channels - R,G,B,A. What else do we need?
Also, have you tested the .coeff files in FIFA 14?
Do you mean hair_coeff texture? Or files with .coeff extension?

I haven't tried this tool but it may work. I will try it later. Frosty 1.0.5.9 doesn't crash for me. Is there anything, in particular, you are trying that causes a crash?

I will take a look and send you the files. One thing I will say, is I have noticed some hair files do not preview correctly in Frosty and often export incorrectly too.

So it's not required, but can we add it?

Yes, they can be added as different blocks but the game seems to ignore them. This is evident with FIFA 16 conversions. Removing the textures or keeping them makes absolutely no difference other than making the file size larger. So pointless really.

I didn't explain my point very well. I am not saying you can't force the software to read all 4 channels, but the issue is more about differences between FIFA 20 & FIFA 14. A lot of hair taken directly from F20 produces a very noticeable shiny effect when used in F14. So, ideally, a modder would open the hair file and adjust the alpha channel to reduce/remove this effect before conversion. Loading .png with 4 channels is not possible with most image editing software but it is possible with .dds. You also can't effectively edit the colour of the hair because of this reason. I guess I am just relaying information, as no matter what you create, some editing in Blender will very likely be required.

Do you mean hair_coeff texture? Or files with .coeff extension?
I did mean the texture. I haven't tested this for a while so let me do a test this morning and I'll post images if it is still an issue.

I already finished DDS/PNG > RX3 converter, currently I'm working on FBX > RX3, and I got stuck because there's no skeleton/skin information in exported files which I have.

Is there anything, in particular, you are trying that causes a crash?
The tool crashed on head export (with skeleton).
One thing I will say, is I have noticed some hair files do not preview correctly in Frosty and often export incorrectly too.
Could be the same issue.
A lot of hair taken directly from F20 produces a very noticeable shiny effect when used in F14.
But do you also swap G and B channels?
Loading .png with 4 channels is not possible with most image editing software but it is possible with .dds.
I use PS always, it loads PNG with all 4 channels. I'm not sure about GIMP and Paint.NET. What software do you use btw?
Anyway, the priority is DDS format, PNG is just an additional option.
Normally, extracted textures are DDS, but I saw PNG in custom user-made face.

Are you talking about FIFA 20 PC or FIFA 20 Switch here?
I compared the Alpha channel of hair color texture in 14 and 20 PC (left), and they are very similar.
FIFA 20 Switch (right), however, use brighter texture there.
haircolor_20.png

The Alpha channel in hair_coeff texture is present in FIFA 20 PC, but not present in FIFA 14.

Nice. Good work. Try these files. They should have skeleton data. I managed to export head, haircap and hairlod but had the issue of Frosty crashing with hair exports.

Yes, but for me it didn't work. This was a while ago though. I'm more experienced with this stuff now so I could have been doing something wrong. I'll have to test it on Switch hair as having an issue exporting PC hair.

I also use Photoshop. How do you get all four channels to show? Mine looks like the below.

And like this with .dds (if I select load transparency as aplha channel):

I was referring to both but I haven't tested FIFA 20 PC yet. I think the last time I tested was F19 maybe F18. I will do the test now.

@HarryBullZak thanks, can you please also export Fernando Llorente files from FIFA20 PC? The model/texture must be same as it was in FIFA14, so it will be easier to compare.
I also use Photoshop. How do you get all four channels to show? Mine looks like the below.
After you opened the file, go to Layer > Layer Mask > From Transparency
Then in Layers window, RMB on created mask and "Disable Layer Mask"

Ok, from what I see, Alpha channel in hair color is same in FIFA 14 and FIFA20 PC

Fernando Llorente doesn't have a face in FIFA 20 PC. I have attached DaMarcus Beasley who has the same head model.

Thanks for the tip on the png. I can't believe I didn't know that!!!
See below the example of what PC hair looks like in-game before it is fixed.

After:

This isn't something I am expecting or asking you to fix, but it is something to be aware of. Ignore the neck. This was a test.

Can you also upload textures for Nesta?
Also is it possible to extract body models from FIFA 20 PC (shirt/shorts/socks/shoes/body/etc.)?
It might be useful in future.

I have attached DaMarcus Beasley who has the same head model.
Good, thanks.
Now I see that Alpha channel is different in FIFA 14 and FIFA 20 PC.
What settings do you use to make it darker?

See below the example of what PC hair looks like in-game before it is fixed.
I see, so it acts like a specular map?

I'm making some tests on rx3 models.
I can confirm there's a limit of 64 bones per mesh. If there's more than 64 bones used - the game will crash.
It's not possible to use more than one head mesh in the head model. The game will pick the first one and use it.
The script player.lua contains the code which loads headcmn textures (normal map, spec map etc.). I think we can edit this file and force loading custom maps for specific players.

for editing player.lua you are right :
best to take a look at the revolution mod (by scouser09)

it s a mod wich add new functions by editing those .lua files:
i think there s a function avaible for adding custom headcmn textures (bump head textures) for each headmodel

Dmitri

Yeah I was surprised it's all in lua file and easily editable.
Previosuly (FIFA 10 PC) it was a part of source code (so was compiled to game executable).
Did they (revolution mod) already added custom normalmap/specmap?
