let me put it this way dude.. I realize these guys are conditioned atheletes and generally tough as nails, but I was actually concerned for Mirko's personal well-being for a minute after it actually happened. ...and it wasn't just the KO itself, it was the sound it made and how he fell.

I'll have a look around to see if anyone's uploaded it yet, I got a feeling it's gonna be a highly watched replay.

sheesh.........like an axe hitting a giant watermelon, eh? Sorta shot that shaves off a good 3yrs off one's career (life)?

There goes his ******* mystique in regards to the US market.......

HOLY****! Boy was that heinous. That girly named dude connected with 100% accuracy and power........Negro Dynamism at its most viciousness imo....wow.....wow. Structural damage to the neck....rrr think? Don't mean to be an internet doc here, but.....ruptured eardrum? Serious neck sprain/concussion?

Boy was that brutal.....woof!

yeah, bro. My condolences goes out to all the Croats out there who experienced some of that brain retardation inducing head shot along with their compatriot.

I'm surprised Crocop was able to walk after the match with they way his leg twisted when he fell. Look at Herb Dean cover his eyes just before he straighten his leg out.

With the way things are going I wouldn't be surprised if this is the year Fedor loses.

Holy sh!t, I didn't even notice the thing with Mirko's leg during his falling down....extra-ouch. (:/)

SHINJI! You looking forward to the ODLH/Mayweather extravaganza??? Oh man, I've been prepping myself for it for the past couple of months, lurking in boxing forums, reading up on blogs and ****......CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S FINALLY HERE!!!!

They're saying that this could very well possibly be the biggest live gate/ppv draw ever....can you believe that? For two Welterweights??? I realize that this involves the Golden Boy of the Mexican folk in their biggest holiday against one of the best, most technically sound and gifted fighters ever, but CMON.....they ain't no heavyweights.

Anyway, my dick is dribling with excitement for this, bro.

oh yeah, I'm pumped for DLH - Mayweather for sure! I can't remember the last time I was looking forward to a boxing match this much, maybe not since Tyson-Holyfield!

the nosebleeds are selling for 150 retail for this one.....sheesh. God only knows how much they're going for on the streets.

Now let's watch Dana ruin 'Page by ridiculously overhyping and exposin' 'em.

Hmm I dunno man, it's hard to predict what Dana's plans with Rampage will be. The UFC has a habit of trying to promote the (white) all-American poster boy types like Rich Franklin and Matt Hughes, and judging by all the boo's that Rampage seems to get from the US crowds I dunno if he's exactly who Dana wants to see as champ. I know it seems stupid to you and me since Jackson is an amazing fighter and marketable as hell, but this new gen of TUF fans is weird, so who knows.. I find it a little odd that all of a sudden Dan Henderson is 'Page's next title defence too.

I dunno if you've been keeping up on the rumours lately, but if you remember way back when the UFC/Pride deal was announced they assured us that Pride would continue to opporate as is, even under Zuffa ownership? Well, the latest news is that Dana is currently working on how to handle Pride's future and that an announcment will be made in the next couple weeks. Personally, my gut feeling is that the writing is on the wall and we've seen the last of Pride. Especially with big Nog, Henderson, Werdum, and Shogun, all recently being contracted by Zuffa....

It's sad to see Pride go, but I think I'd rather see it put out of it's misery than watch it go on as a shadow of what it once was, with all it's stars removed. It's too bad though, I been buying up some Pride DVD's (the Bushido tourneys are God's gift to MMA!) lately and the quality of the MMA combined with the overall entertainment value is second to none.

Keeping my fingers crossed that K-1 HERO'S steps in to fill the PrideFC void if it comes down to that.. sucks we get no SHOOTO coverage here in North America. I been trying to keep up on ICON Sport lately too out of Hawaii, they're one of the few MMA promotions left outside of Japan/Korea that still use full PrideFC based rules...which IMO were always superior to the UFC ruleset.

LOL@ Jardine's clownish stance....you're begging for brutal assrape with that ******* easily exploitable posture, man.

Yeah I have no idea what that monkey sh!t was that he was doing.. can't say I was tooooo surprised though to see him owned as I think the vast majority of the guys out of TUF are just over-hyped B-level fighters minus a couple exeptions. I was just surprised that it happened in such brutal fashion, and that it came from a newcomer. Apparently Jardine talked some sh!t before the fight too, saying that he deserved to be fighting a contender and not a lower calibre fighter making his debut.

Man, Alexander landed a couple vicious Mortal Kombat-like uppercuts. I don;t think I've ever seen anyone's feet actually get lifted off the ground from that outside of a video game. Watching Alexander fight really reminded me of the early UFC's especially with his relentless onslaught, it kinda made me think of a younger Tank Abbott and what he used to do back in the day.

^^hurhurhur......http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWZ-IyC27xo

I was thinking the exact same thing too, bro.

regarding Rampage's marketability.....hmm....excellent points there, man. I didn't even put into context as far as the UFC and the way it promotes its product and personnel. I just automatically assumed foolishly that he'd instantly become the posterboy of the company after dethroning the organization's long time golden boy in such a wicked fashion with that huge mainstream media coverage and all.

I'm perfectly comfortable with Rampage maintaining his heel like persona and not being made into a media circus clown who's pumped up and over publicized to the point of being annoying and nauseating.

This thread really needs to be bumped, any new UFC fans emerge?

I've been watching some fights here and there on Spike TV. I've been watching (downloading) all the UFC events since 73: stacked, which has remained my favorite so far. I've also been watching every episode so far of The Ultimate Fighter 6.

The next fight card at UFC 78 is brutal, the main event - Evans vs Bisping sucks, I am not a big Bisping fan, but I am looking forward to seeing Parysian again, and Houston Alexander's fights are always exciting (knock outs).
