Ferguson aint foolin anyone with the "we're looking into the transfer situation" crap. It's obvious now that we're broke, and he needs to sell Ruud to generate more money for the midfield. If I were him and we had money, I would've accepted the 10/11 million pound bids because supposedly he's 'bad for team spirit' so I'd want to get rid of him quickly. But that's not the case. It seems like we have to cannibalise our self in order to improve our midfield.

I'm sure we'll come to an agreement. I expect him to be ours before the week is done. A few of my fellow madridistas are upset about signing Ruud, but I watch alot of Man U games, so I know better. I know Ruud will be near the top of the scoring charts next season at Real Madrid.

When we have a gaping hole in midfield? I'd rather have a world class midfield with our current strikers, rather than a whole lotta talent up front, but a whole lotta crap in the middle.

Exactly....that would make sense and everyone happy but i dont think SAF knows that Gravesen plays for Madrid ....now only if we get Gravesen AND Veira then imo its the best dealin SAF would have done for quite some time

I've always said that Gravesen is my personal number one target to fill the gap in midfield, IMO he is a better and more realistic option then Vieira and doesn't have any bad history with our club. Mentally he is strong too, he is strong physically, creative and hardworking, that's all we need and I think that he won't be too expensive

IMO Scholes should be benched, he is a United legend but its time to move on. We need a playmaker...SAF needs to spend straight cash to get World Class player. Cannavaro, Mascherano, Huntelaar and Kaka coming to United would be my dream come true.

Wooow..Easy there fella, no need for such words. I was only referring to his quick contract offer rejection and price increase on Ruud. Which by all means i feel are justifiable but i just wish we could have signed him already..

By the way, I am well aware how good of a manager he is and the wonders he has done for you guys

This Thread is starting to look like Championship Manager!! (Let's get Buffon!!!, NO, Let's get Torres!! etc..) To fix the midfield in a effecive and fiscal (cheap) manner, SAF should propose a swap deal w/ Real. 12m + Thomas Gravesen for Ruud THEN make a bid for Vieira. Also, consider Franck Ribery, he can pace and skill to United at a good price.

Better to get him now before he goes to Lyon and be forced to pay a jacked up the ass price for him after he shines in the Champions League.
