The Football Master (Rinaldo is back)

Great!

Another question: the topshort net is possible to change from boolean to integer values too?

yes, but you have to add also the support for a 60 team schedule in the roundrobin table (108 legs of 30 matches each)
but should i need to create the structure in the db also, right? because in the tool i haven't see the option to create a mixed league or modify the present league.
for example in english league if i want to replace 15 teams with others teams from other leagues i can't right?

RFS itself does not support the creation of custom tournaments like FIFA does, but using TFM and\or RFS_Master (btw a new release of RFS_Master with many new features will be a available soon) you can edit the database and create leagues or cups as well as modify existing leagues, everything will be then played by RFS.
RFS DB structure description is also available in the documentation.

grazie mille sei stato gentilissimo
thank you very much mate

Hi, Rinaldo!

Could you please tell me if there is an option in RFS to change the starting year of a career?

It would be interesting to play in old seasons with old squads specifically in your project (obviously, this would be a huge task to implement, but there are old FIFA databases or classic mods for old seasons that could potentially be adapted for RFS).

For example, it would be cool to take a database from one of the old FIFA games and start a career in the 2000s.

Win the Champions League with the classic Arsenal or Juventus, or the World Cup and Euros with the Netherlands national team.

For instance, you start your career at Barcelona in the early 2000s, and then a young Lionel Messi joins, whom you need to develop and turn into a global star (although in RFS, it's probably only the program-generated young players who join, unlikely to have real players scripted?).

Ah, dreams, dreams...

Yeah, this is possible. There is a table "variables" in the database with just one entry, CareerFirstYear = 2024. Just set the Year back to whatever you want.

I set the Year for myself back to 2019 and imported a Fifa 16 DB with the 19/20 season. Added some youth teams and put youth players from 20-24 in there. But you are right, a lot of work to do. :)

hey rinaldo,
would it be possible to import the different database from older fifa games into rfs? That would be a brilliant feature or for retro fans :)
here is the link thanks to Skoczek for his great work

What I think is a great feature of RFS is that all the data are stored in a single database: RFS.DB
You do not need anything else (compdata, ini or scripts) so if you are able to create a consistent Database it will work for you and for everybody else. Of course to build a database is not trivial, but its structure is fully documented and the tools for editing it are available (and will continue to improve). Basically you can build your own "world" as you like and share it with the community in a very simple way.

Other important points:
- all the graphics is distributed in .png files and organized in folders whose usage is simple to understand.
- career files have exactly the same database structure of RFS.DB and again all the data are stored in a unique database so you do not need to trust on data that are in other DBs (like for example FIFA does for playernames and stadiums tables that are not saved in career files)

I really encourage the community to explore RFS potential and share their own creations.

My commitment is to support the data import from a FIFA16 db, the structure of the db is changing over the years and to support every format would be a gigantic effort.

What i also like what you can do with these DB is prepair it for your carreer like if you want a player to be bought later you can easly give him a new contract so that he will be transfered to the new team at the end of your season and ofcourse all those different league structures with those where never possible in the original fifa games

I'm working on something a little unusual. fantasy European competitions for teams in the lower divisions. It's amazing what you created lets me do something that never would've been possible with normal FIFA

hey rinaldo! I have a db made by @er-han, but it belongs to the old version. how can I make it compatible with the current version?

I tried mate. The same DB I guess we are speaking about. Even with Rinaldo´s little Guide on how to do I wasn´t able to bring RFS to make the m running on newer RFS Versions. Too much changes since this older DB are made in the newer DB´s for RFS. Just not compatible. Anyway, here is how Rinaldo explained it previously.
