FIFA 18 News & Discussion

Don't know what you're on about.
Yes you said that already. And then I explained what I thought you were talking about; explained to you what my response was referencing.

And now you've replied once more, "I don't know what you are on about." Which doesn't make any sense at all because I just explained what I was talking about. And so you in fact know what I was on about. I misunderstood.

We discussed about the possibility of duplicating players to replace the faces with new imported ones. And it can't be done.

What about players who are hidden in the game that have real faces? Could we replace them with important players that are missing real faces, and then add the modded faces?

In the career files, of the exported DLC folder would you know of which maniera ascendo a league of 16 teams to 20? I for the league table by DB MASTER I have already directed the necessary teams to the appropriate gap ... but within the tournament still only seek 16 out of 20, until I read something else about editing the STANDINGS file, but that's where I saw ID's of which I do not have access and certainty to do ... help me?

It is coming along.....
Brilliant

Good News Everyone:

The Latest update of FiFA 18 broke the beautiful LOD mod made by regularcat.

Update returned the LODs to default values. I tried to install the LOD again but it causes FiFA to crash to desktop right before you can choose the language.

I reinstalled the game and applied the mod several times to make sure its not error on my end.

Good job EA.

There's some good news atleast.

The FPS cap bug on DirectX 12 is finally fixed. Previously setting FPS to no limit still caused frame rate drop to half of the monitors refresh rate during cut-scenes. This even happened with DirectX 11 if you played on Window mode.

But after this update, window mode renders the game at smooth 60 FPS, so does Dx12. I still use Dx11 since 980 Ti performs better on Dx11, but for Pascal cards, its a good news.

Too bad it broke the Lod mod [Hopefully we can fix this when the tool is released]. And it broke Frosty Tool too which is very unfortunate. Previously I thought of finding a way to revert back to old patch. But since this new patch some issues regarding FPS limit [Keep in mind it still doesnt fix the Vsync problem with AMD cards, so there are lots of work to do], I think the modding tools should be updated to work with this new update.

Now what do you guys say about that EA ideea of making sometime in the near future fifa as an online continous service with no more new editions every september but a continuous chain of updates and tweaks?
I think it would be a little strange at the beginning but better on the longer run.
However, ofcourse, in money it will be more expensive and enclined more and more on the online game modes, obviously FUT as main feature, but career mode players could get some good things also ( I hope).
Anyway, we like it or not, this will happen.

EA tried something like that with their golf game in 2012, it was a complete failure and they ended the experiment after a year and canceled the game. Now they release a new game every year like always. People need to believe it's "new" every year or they lose interest and won't invest any money. So EA accommodates them by essentially releasing the same Madden and same NHL and same FIFA game every year. And people buy them up in the millions because it's in a new package with a new athlete on the cover.

Yes, in 2012, but nowadays the tide is shifting....
There seems to be a growing demand for this kind of subscribing service and EA already gave us a clear ideea that this is what the future holds for the series.
I really can't imagine how would it look, but if it results in more money for the producers, I'm sure it will happen.
And yes, that is what everyone says - EA will miss the bombastic constant news when aproaching the time of release and the milion of consumers ready to give their money away when reading the tales of the new enhacements (pffui) but they'll find another way of heralding a huge change like one or two months before updating some hair model they'll writte once a week on all the sites about how it will move on the wind or how realistic will look or something like that and the milions of buyers will still read and wait the update and so on....
Oh yes, and charge extra money for every addon like stadiums or alternartive kits and that is sure to happen, in fact is declared by the producers....extra packages are called.(omg)

Well there will always be cable TV, and there will always be subscriber channels like Netflix.

Or, it's now possible to subscribe to a pot-delivery service, they'll mail it to you once a month. But there will always be booze drinkers who still drive to the store to pick up their week-end case of beer.

Creating something new doesn't mean the old way will vanish, it just means there will be more variety in the choices we have.

There already is a game that is online only, earns them lots of microtransactions and they update the faces and kits, sometimes the engine.

That game is called FiFA Online

FiFA Online 3
is the current one and they recently switched from Impact Engine from FiFA 11's engine. They even updated the kit wrinkles a while back.

FiFA Online 4 is in development now.

So I hope if they make online only game, then it should be a separate game. The real game should be released every year and I hope it stays that way.

With me it's not about hope, it's about the continuation vs end of my playing days. I will not play an online game. My gaming PC is permanantly offline except for the 30 seconds every week I have to re-validate FIFA 18. I stopped playing PES 2 years ago because it requires an online connection to start up each time, it's BS I will have nothing to do with.

I don't know guys, if the current trend continues than we haven't got much hope for our game.
It will be a huge succes with the FUT kid robots though, it's their dream!!!
I guess we are too rooted in the past and old fashioned to understand this!

Yeah, the game developers are leaning towards GaaS (gaming as a service). EA already does that with FUT.

If they decide to stop releasing a game every year and focus only on online entertainment, I think the career mode will get more and more neglected in favor of FUT.

Every week? I didn't revalidated FiFA 16 for 2 months straight until it asked for validation randomly.

FiFA 18 didn't ask for validation either until Windows auto updated and then it asked for validation. Did they change the validation time now?

I got the game a month ago, I've been offline with it the whole time, yet I've been asked to validate it 2-3 times at least. I played FIFA 16 for months without ever having to validate. No idea why.

What files do I need to backup in order to allow the last update of the game and return to update 3 if frosty editor won't work?

You back up the main FIFA 18 files before you download the update. I always rename them FIFA 18 [date]. Then if you want to go back, remove the new updated files, and change the name of the older files back to FIFA 18.

In fact, the moment the game updates, make a copy and save it by date, and now you have your back up files if needed.

FYI, I created a new folder and stuck the patch folder in there so the game wouldn't read it. My game still launched, have no idea why it would. Try that if you're still looking for fixes.
