Bulgarian National Team Thread

Berbatov continues his breathtaking form with Spurs. He was named in the Permiership squad of the 2006/2007 season, he then got 2 goals voted as "best goal of the epl week" for each week they were scored in, and now got the Barclays Player of the month award as well. :) Manager of the month is Martin O'Neil from Villa, who is coaching Stenley.

Other news bout the squad:
- Stoichkov kicked out
- Stoilov is going ot replace him on regular basis for 2 games.
- Bozhinov doesn't get played regularly by the stupid Deschamps bastard in Juve, so that's why he turned to be pretty over-weight last time i saw him.. :p
- Martin recovered form the bad injury and played one game as a substitute for Atletico, and hit the bar. Last Atletico game he came as substitute as well and scored the only goal for Atletico, but they lost 1-2 to Espanyol.

Yes! A nice win, great game, we could have scored more, but that's enough. Good luck for the second game, we must beat them! GO BULGARIA!

Qualifiers are off, we're out of the EURO this time. I hope we can do it like we did it last time, but a lot of things didn't worked out, especially coaching and the players picking.. I guess some players we're called thorughout this campaign only to cap games with the NT shirt and was that.

The positive thing is, we climbed up 16 places (from 34 up to 18; the best climbing into the TOP50 teams) and are in the second pot for the Durban draw for the European qualification campaign for World Cup 2010.

Let's hope for a fine draw. :)

In the meantime we beat at the end of the euro 2008 campaign Romania 1-0 at home (Velizar Dimitrov) and Slovenia 0-2 away (Blagoi Georgiev, Berba).

Some pics form the Romania game:

Throughout the break, Romanian fans fought with each other.. I still don't know why.

Vili after the goal.. (i always knew he is better than the dozen Levski idiots that kept on being capped through the first games of the campaign)

.. well, here Martin is looking a little like Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, doesn't he?

wish Romania all luck in Euro2008. Netherlands too, although they didn't really deserved their place. If you think of Scotland being out after plaing so brave.. it's a shame they didn't made it, and Netherlands did with such a weak performance.

Our World Cup qualification group looks like this:

1. Italy
2. Bulgaria
3. Ireland
4. Cyprus
5. Georgia
6. Montenegro

How would you guys comment on that, what chances do we have for the first two places in your oppinion? :)

It's a second hardest group for me and I don't see any favourite.

yep, but i do believe we can make it.
Last qualifying campaign Ireland performed very weak. For example, against Cyprus they got 2-5 loss and 1-1 draw...

Not that our campaign was way better, but after all we finished with 25 points. And failed to qualify, because Holland got backed up by the referees in some games, like the one with Albania, in which i saw for the first time an own goal disallowed for offside. :D

^ LOL yeah that game was a bunch of bs. However, we ourselves failed to beat Albania on both occasions. Had we won those 2 games, we'd be in the Euro right now.

I'd rather forget this shibby campaign. It was so uninteresting, the games -not only ours', but our opponent's too- were very sloppy and not really entertaining.

k well...we hardly got a point from Montenegro. I didn't watch it but apparently we were second best throughout...fan*******tastic.
