Anyone here into this series? I've got a hard-on for historical pieces and this one is almost right up there with Rome imo. The psychopath from Match Point (What a wonderful actor this dude is, eh?) plays a young, dynamic passion-filled Henry the 8th.


Fantastically entertaining, man. The casting director should get an award for doing a wonderful job in the actors that they've chosen for the parts, because its so well acted......And there's a ton of jerkin' material in it too...if yer into that sort of thing.

wooof.....isn't she about the prettiest woman you've ever seen? I don't know who this broad is, man, but everytime she's on screen, she makes my loins heat up like a cheap carburetor, man. btw, how much of American media leaks into your normal cable? Do you need a satellite to access American programming?

I dont really know as I dont have sky or anything like that, but our terrestrial channels tend to buy alot of American shows, comedies and dramas - I would say close to half our prime time television is American - so I imagine if this is any good it'll get bought up. This does mean we get to see alot of HBO productions for free, when I believe you have to pay top dollar for them?

Yeah, HBO and Showtime (it's main rival and the channel that produces The Tudors) are pay-for specialty channels.

Their programming is just far superior to anything else that's out there, man. They're by far the two best channels in the whole of tvdom in North America.

pretty much quality programming 24/7.....just have a look at their main/spinoff channels' tv schedules. I don't know if you'd be familiar with any of the **** that's on there, but I promise you, man, it's good tv.

Episode 1 just aired over here. Episode 2 is on Friday.

I was impressed with this, the plot and storytelling is good and the acting promising. I appreciate the fact that as HBO did with ROME the thing is shot where it happened and by English actors mostly too.

Some nice ladies in it as well.

^^ Yep. It was commissioned for production by Showtime, which is HBO's equal and main competitor in America, and from what I've read, they didn't spare any expense to make it as good and aesthetically pleasing as possible.

No - the last episode we had was Henry wrestling the French king at the summit meeting and then Henry going bezerk afterwards. Episode 3 is tomorrow.

hurhurhur. Yeah, that's a very good episode. The tension and build up to the showdown between the two Kings was immense, man. I was certain that Henry would devour the French king in that wrestling match, so much so that I even went as far as to lay a toony (two dollar Canadian coin) on 'em against my sister who I watched most of the series with, but he ******* blew it, man.


At least he got to **** the **** out of one of the Boleyn sisters as a consolation, right?
