Substitutions and injuries

Hello guys,

1 or 2 things that I 've noticed and which I think are annoying.
When you decide to make a substitution during a match you have to wait till the ball is outside the field and sometimes it takes a long time and then ,your planned substitution becomes useless
because the score has changed or you've changed your mind.
The only way to make your sub coming at the moment your decide is to kick the ball outside. In Fifa 2002 the substitution of players was more accurate .
The other thing is concerning the injured players. Everybody remember the Fifa 2002 bug where the player you substituted
(fór the injured one) was sooo weak that it was useless. You had
to wait half time till he recovered again and if he was injured in the 2nd part of the game he stayed weak till the end.
Here in Fifa 2003 it's the contrary. The " injured " player is still
running like a rabbit and it seems to me that his abilities are not affected .I could score a goal with an injured one !!
That is not realistic.
I am just wondering who are the programmers at EA and if they have one time in their life watched a real match!
To me they simply lack of common sense.
What is killing me in these Fifa football games is to see EVERY YEAR such overlooked details which are so obvious.
Are you agree with me ?

Cheers Jm

I agree with you 100 %...
I'm sure EA will fix all the annoying bugs in the 2004 version althought we now need a big patch that fixes all the VERY obvious bugs...

i dont think injured players have the same abilities as healthy ones - as the fatigue bar is always at 1 - so you cant sprint, or use the Freestyle controls. I think the shooting and passing accuracy is decreased too, but i know what you mean, they arent hindered enough.

Excuse my ignorance whats the 'freestyle' control??? is that the skill button???or is it something different???

yeah, its the button/analogue stick for skills and knock-ons and stuff...sorry for confusing ya there mate, i just didnt know what else to call it!

you can not sub until the ball is out of bounds.. because thats the rule.

but it's pretty unrealistic, because I once scored a hattrick with an injured player.....err...not once actually, twice!

just because a player is injured doesnt mean they are dead, I have seen injured players score goals before, Rivaldo did that last yr.. he got injured mid the second half and still kept playing and scored a goal..

How about when the game is stopped ? By a free kick or a penalty ???
You could do that in Fifa 2002 ,why not this year ?

Hehe, Hercules !
I think your injured player should have get a yellow card for
simulation or maybe a red card.Next time you have to send him out of the field right away !!
All in all it's a funny game isn't it ?

Cheers JM

maybe rivaldo can continue playing injuried....but on most occassions when players when a player picks up an injury during the game they are not much use to the rest of the team...don't think EA have catered for this. Seems like the player is slightly weaker (but not significantly enough for my liking)....for every injuried rivaldo that scores there are at least 10 injuried players that are a liability to the team. EA need to sort this out.:hump: :hump: :hump:

The problem is when you see a message on screen "Rivaldo has torn his ligaments" and then you see him score a couple of goals with a red cross over his head, that's not very realistic is it?

The nature of the injury should be reflected ingame.

True, they should maybe kick the ball out of bounds to add to the simulation factor of the game.
