MLS Thread 2007

Should be interesting. I hope it catches on as the more competition that happens the better for the league.

Too bad it will only be broadcast on Telefutura, I mean that's as s*itty a tv deal as you could have gotten.

SuperLiga is going to be a waste of time, as it is nothing more than a glorified friendly tournament where we will get assraped by the Mexicans. I will be shocked if even one MLS club makes it out of the group stage. While MLS has made tremendous progress, I still believe that we don't have what it takes to beat Mexico at club level. Should the Revs finish in the top four in the combined table this year, I hope that we end up declining the invitation to next year's SuperLiga. Long story short: MLS has nothing to gain and everything to lose in this competition, and the sooner this mistake fades into history, the better.

I have to disagree with you here. I think this tournament needs to be nurtured and hopefully grow into a legit tourny.

Remeber that MLS itself used to be a joke league and after a decade it is gaining a level of respectability.

The Superliga is a glorified friendly now, but if it continues and as the level of quality in the MLS grows, I think it could turn into an exciting and popular tournament, even though right now it's a joke, it could grow into something more meaningful if we can make it through these early stages.

You have to start somewhere.

Same thing with the CONCACAF club championships. I still think the more tournaments against international competition for MLS teams, the better.

The Crew winners of three in a row? Have we been transported to a parallel universe?

The Revs would just end up moving all the games to an undisclosed location or wherever the Vermont Lake Monsters play.

Us playing like crap helped you a lot. Angel was no where to be found and Reina was below average. Mathis and Angel are to similar to play together, i miss Jozy already, stupid U21 tournament :nape:

All of a sudden we are the wrost team in the league, or the worst of the last 5 games at least. Arena should really work on that defense. We are really strugling in the back. And Waterreus hasn't been impecable either.

I'm watching Dallas-Atlanta in the Cup right now. 0-0 as of now, MLSnet.com if you want to see it.

1) Who the hell put this on Monday?
2) The announcer sounds like he's talking through a toilet paper roll.
3) Atlanta's keeper is a poor man's Carrasso, but so far his punching has done the job.
4) The lights in the Northeast corner are out.
5) Matt Bobo is the worst defender in the top 3 divisions.

Att: Probably 2,500.

Edit: "I think Bobo's gonna get some serious looks from some major league soccer teams". Keep in mind, Bobo got turned so badly he fell not 4 minutes ago.

1-0 Dallas, Ruiz. McIntosh's punching caught up with him.
1-1, own goal

Atlanta down to 10 men, Antoniuk kicked Goodson, Goodson kicked Antoniuk, both went down and got up, Antoniuk got sent off, punked the **** out of Goodson and flipped off some kid in the stands.
