ea need to do these 3 things, to make gameplay perfect. that is all. it is simple.

1. make long shots way harder to go in...it is ridiculous
2. to compensate for this, make the defense a bit easier to break down so there are more "normal" scoring shots - result: same difficulty, more realistic
3. make the AI a bit more random

that'll fix it.

anyway, there are also two small things which piss me off which would make career mode "perfect":
1. in the team management screen, show the condition on the very left! not the very right where i have to scroll over everytime to see it!
2. when i am first in the premier league, the intro screen to the match says i am second! same wit every other team - it says you are one place below what you really are! i know this sounds small but it just reminds that you are playing a game because something like that would never happen on a real life telecast.

oh yeah, and please make the game more stable on my gamecube! it has crashed already 5 times - just frozen and i had to restart - especially annoying when ya haven't saved in career mode for a while.

Fixed everything you said about the gameplay, try veteran's gameplay patch and you will see the difference, created for realism not for the easy scoring / dribbling so basically its really hard to score

PD. Try semi-pro level first, dont even think about tryin pro or even world cup at the beginning until you get some practice.

game freezes up?

interesting you mention your game has frozen on Gamecube a few times - this has happened to me a lot on PS2 mid game and I assumed it was a dirty DVD / scratched or something

anyone else had problems?

i've had the PC version crash to desktop several times - but that's normal for every FIFA game....

yeah i gotta say my game seems pretty unstable on the gamecube. as i said it has frozen 5 times but it also sometimes freezes for like 15 seconds at the end of a game and then snaps out of it. btw, that is when it always freezes - at the end of a game.

i like everything else in fifa it is just the long range shooting really really really really erases all the realism created by the lead up play.

in one sentence: "so close...yet so far"

I agree with #1, #2 is a bug that happens to everyone, and the crashes and freezes happen to me on PS2 as well.
