Has anybody got a list of all the formations for all teams in PE2?

This is for those people interested in creating their own teams, and you need to find a team who matches your teams formation.

teams is more than 4-4-2 in the game for u 2 overwrite?

the 1st team in the game is Ireland and we know
that their formation is 4-4-2,
use Hexedit or Hedit to open the BIN file and search for

red, blue and green belongs to IRELAND formation and the next
30bits belong to N.IRELAND and so on...

the last 20bits means that u can edit the position of the players left/right or frt/back

implication as u now have to change the players...

I guess that your having problems with transparency? Or them not appearing right when you copy one jersey to another?

I found this, the only way to sort it is to use th epallete associated with the kits youve used.

i.e in iss shirt editor:

Players Texture Shirt 1 = 04.bin (P1)
Goalkeeper Palette Shirt 1 has to be 04.bin (P1) to definitely work.

You may be able to find other shirts that work.

Basically the issue as far as I can see it with shirt colours is this...

If your original shirt texture has more colours than the Palette your trying to add you get problems, or if the palettes dont match.

Example:

Ajax shirt has three colours (red, white, red trim).
Japan Shirt has two colours (Blue and white trim).

If you apply Japan palette to Ajax shirt you get a mess.

this what happens:

Blue replaces white which are the "primary" colours for each shirt.
The white trim of japan replaces the black trim for Ajax.
The "red" areas on the Ajax shirt are replaced with garbage (or it might be another part of the palette).

If anyone is interested I have a full collection of EPL kits (800kb). I also have the full set of dat files for the EPL, although if you wait I am updating them over the next few days based on CM data.

It isnt perfect but will even some of my "liking" of players and makes it more objective. This should also iron out any problems with foot preference (some players I just dont know well enough). Also using CM allows me to create the lower leagues, and other teams later..

I've been trying a bit of team editing also and have a few problems.

1) I've created a few .dat files for some teams and then edited the player attributes using the convert program but don't know how to get the .dat file loaded into ISS.

2) When editing strips, do you have any idea what the Captains Armband, Flag and Referee pallete things are all about...I just put in random _TXT files for them and have no idea what effect they have....the flags never seem to deviate from the correct national flag.

3) If you've got the full EPL .dat files and stuff, I'd be interested

1) Right to put them in to the game you are going to need another program call isspro2edit. In fact this program is much better than the attribute converter youre talking about, It allows you to create them using a full graphical interface. You should be able to get this from http://www.we2000diy.net/en_index.htm

There isnt much explanation on how to use it but it should be easy enough.

Note that you will probably need to run the dao.zip program too, otherwise you will not be able to see any players. (I know it says you dont need it but I did!).

Be warned this program can be flaky! So always Write to CD Image regularly.

Hints:
1) If you change a team name remember to click Update Team Name and then Write to CD Image. Otherwise youll lose the change.
2) To edit a particular player simply double click on him.
3) Always Remember to Write to CD Image.

For culo if you already have some teams in dat files then it is dead simple, open isspro2edit choose the team you are going to replace i.e. England. You will notice that they are Team no 5 on the list. Make sure that your dat file says "id=n5", otherwise it doesn't work properly. Copy your dat file to the isspro2edit directory.Then click "Import Team" choose the name of the dat file you want to import, and double click. Your team has now been imported.


You can ask me if you need specific help after reading this!

2) Yes they do make a difference. Basically each team strip file (.bin) contains 2 goalie shirts, referee shirt, flags, and the actual kit.

Now this is the complex bit

Say I want to create a new Southampton Kit.
Home Kit is Red&White stripe, Black Shorts, White Socks.
Away Kit all black with red stripes.

Player Shirt Texture 1 needs to be stripes, like Juve Home Kit.

Players Texture Shirt 1 - Tex_71.bin - P1 tells it to choose the Juve home kit pattern.
Players Palette Shirt 1 - Tex_81.bin - P1 tells it to choose River Plates home kit colours (red & white, black shorts, white socks)
Players Texture Shirt 2 - Tex_22.bin - P2 tells it to choose the Slovenia away kit pattern.
Players Palette Shirt 2 - Tex_81.bin - P2 tells it to choose River Plates away kit colours (black & red trim, black shorts, black socks.)

Now Goalkeepers get there shirt pattern from the players shirt pattern above. So to make sure you dont get problems you need to tell it to make the shirt colours the same as those for the players shirt. (Basically problems come about with goalkeepers shirts because if you choose different palette to the original shirts palette it can make it transparent)
Therefore:

Goalkeepers Palette Shirt 1 - Tex_71.bin G1
Goalkeepers Palette Shirt 2 - Tex_22.bin G2

Remember if you set the Players shirt above to P1 (to use the home kit of a team as your away kit), then you need to make sure it says G1 for that shirt and not G2.

Ok with the captains palette strip it is to do with the captains sleeve and armband, all it means in reality is make sure it matches the colour palette of your shirts above or he will look stupid or you wont be able to see his armband (it'll be blue on blue!)!

The same goes for these as the GK kit make sure you set P1 and P2 correctly !

Right Flags!

Basically you can make any flag you want for any team from those provided, so say we decide that for Southampton we want them to have a flag which three vertical stripes, with white and red on. A team that has three vertical stripes on their flag is Nigeria (Team 35 which is Tex_34.bin), and a team with red and white on their flag is Austria (Team 21 or Tex_20.bin).

Mini Flags Palette - Tex_20.bin MF (MF is for mini flag palette in theory you could use any type of palette but I havent tried it)

Unfortunately this wont change your big flags

Finally Referees...

I havent spotted it but I think this there to stop your teams kit clashing with the ref.

therefore you should probably set it to the same as the home kit Texture:

Referee Texture Shirt - Tex_71.bin

Things to note when kit editing..

1) Never apply a 2 colour kit palette to a 3 colour kit shirt texture, you will end up with transparency or weird colours... Though you can apply a 3 colour shirt to a 2 colour kit (be careful of weird colour changes though )! The same happens on shorts and socks for example, Arsenal have red and white socks if you apply this to the dutch home kit (completely orange) parts of their legs will be missing!

2) Before you create make sure that you have set up the P1, P2, G1, etc correctly!

Firstly what kind of copy did you make?

.bin or .iso?

Dont think it matters, what you will probably find is best is to get WinISO this will allow you to replace the file in the image and burn a new image. I think so anyway never tried it to be honest.

Certainly WinISO is the best product for creating/extracting isos.

I already had isspro2edit but it was working only to let me change the team name...I could not view the players attributes but now i have copied the msflxgrd.ocx file and I can now see all the players attributes


However, it is still not working as I had hoped...i can changed the attributes and write to CDImage and then when i play game, i can now see that the player has the new attributes. But even though I also changed the players name in the .dat file, when I play the game, the players names are not changed and still shows the original international players names...have you got the same problem??

btw...when you play isspro2 using the .bin file, do you have any problems with sound??
when i play isspro on epsxe using the original CD everything is fine but when i play using the iso file, I seem to lose some sounds (noise when player kicks ball, when ball hits post, the crowd background noise and the menu noises are all missing....but i can still here music, commentary(unfortunately) and some crowd chants....very strange...i have tried playing with different plug-ins and settings/configurations but none seem to stop the problem.

You say you have "installed" the ocx file have you also installed dao? Even though it says you dont need to I found I needed to.. Other than that I can think why name changing doesn't work.

And no I dont have probs with sound?

did you load an option file at the start of the game? If so, try not doing that, it should work than.

A little update about the stats:

Some younger players, or players in lower divisions dont have all the skills, so what to do ?

well the only approach I could think of was to take any figures they do have and remove a point for each missing figure:

So if the player was a striker:

Teamwork = 15
Creativity = 14
Flair = 15
Decision = -

The Average would come out at 15 then allowing for missing stat

player gets a 14 for attacking skill...
