Have always been loyal to FIFA but am finally getting frustrated with the gameplay......

What differences does PES bring in gameplay compared to FIFA with regardds to gameplay?

Just seeking an honest opinion.

My honest opinion is that Konami have ruined PES. PES 09 is the worst in the series by some distance, it's a shadow of what PES 6 was. I prefer Fifa this year by far. My advice is grab the demo of PES 09 and judge for yourself.

I just played a PES demo few days back, players faces were so dumb (made by plastic I think) and the worst thing was players movement that their heads moves in fornt of their body but I think the totall movement is more dynamic now. cinematics of PES are great especially when you socre or starting cinematic (I don't know why fifa doesn't work on that). I didn't like the menus as well. it was like SEGA games.

If you don't mind having a very limited selection of leagues and so on and you want to jump to PES, dig out a copy of PES 6 and update it. I'm sure that all the sound/stadium/bootpacks are still around for it. For me, PES 5 or 6 is the best, since then they've gone downhill. If you could only mix the football from PES 5 or 6 with the depth of Fifa 09!

It might be because demos aren't the proper thing and the company don't focus on graphics

I'm bored with fifa 09 too, played like 150 games of it and it's just so easy to win on legendary.

PES is worth it, the lack of proper team names, stadiums, kits etc is annoying, but the gameplay is excellent. I like playing international games on PES. It's also a very difficult game, on the top level you will find it hard to win

Have you tried it with patch 2?

Play online. For me that's the best thing about FIFA. Yes, it gets boring in single player, but online? Never...

For the Japanese, a hard football game means that AI players are SUPER humans! They bump the AI players' abilities to 9999! They even force you to give them the ball sometimes. I wouldn't exclude the option of increasing the AI players to 16 in the future! :S

I find online play very frustrating, it's just so lagged. The player doesn't respond half the time, I feel like I'm 1-2 seconds behind every move the other player makes.. I'm wondering if we at a disadvantage because of the ping times. Do EU/US people experience any lag (compared with playing a local game)?

well if you're in Sydney trying to play with someone from the States you're gonna have a real hard time playing a smooth game. Can't you filter to look for players from your country? I just got the game and haven't tried online yet. I'm liking it better than PES so far.
