There is a limit of leagues for career mode to work (and I guess the game in general). I don't know if the 10 South American leagues plus this other 24 European ones (and some lower divisions too) would be able to fit in just one version. Maybe I'm wrong tho. But the limit surely exists.

There is certainly a reduction in phases, some cups removed.... a more personal adjustment to be achieved.

Yea , i did regenerate but nothing much happened honestly.
