Sad that Giggi only include Anderlecht from Belgium, Club Brugge at least would have been a great addition maybe mamounet has already the kits as well
I based it on my childhood memories. Anderlecht practically dominated the decade. All the articles were Anderlecht themed, whoever came to Italy came from Anderlecht. Brugge, seen from the outside, wasn't that acclaimed at the time. Paradoxically, despite having done much less, Antwerp was better known here in Italy. They were the two most successful. Brugge in those years were still seen as a team in crisis far from the glories of the 70s and 80s. They had the same appeal as Mechelen (which lived on distant echoes a couple of seasons earlier). Even though I'm aware that in the second half of the 90s they were very competitive, I don't feel like extending to that team AT THE MOMENT. There's a possibility but not in the medium short term. I've already opened up to Sporting CP who in Italy nobody gave a damn about XD. They were practically equated with the stupid brother of the Portuguese teams. They were basically only known for three things. Figo and the mess with Juventus and Parma for his contract and two European cups against Inter and Roma I think... maybe Napoli... I would have excluded Sporting CP without hesitation.

No. The extra teams were chosen based on general appeal because many teams have had short cycles and are already covered by UCL teams. These are the big teams from second-tier nations that have had a significant presence in European cups and have had top-notch players. The classic three Dutch, the three (two) Portuguese, two Scottish, and Anderlecht... More will arrive in the future from the split and conversion of the 5-year-old teams still present. It depends on the kits we already have. But those selected are the hard core that will be proposed again in all decades (I hope)

Thanks Giggi for the update. Just a note. Sporting CP is a club with history and that's why it produced Figo and Cristiano Ronaldo, two Golden Ball winners. This shows the passion the club has for the game. Thanks for putting Sporting in this patch! Portuguese football deserves a chance to be represented!

Wait a minute! I had already shared these teams with TonyKroos, only Anderlecht was still without an owner because I wanted to ask you. I don't know if Tony has already started something about it. I haven't heard from him since before the weekend. In fact, the complete table is this one. Already the boundary lines and competence between me and Tony and a season of whoever arrives first creates the shirts, that is 1994-95.

We have to hear Tony

I know Tony has Benfica 1996-97 in mind because I have to do the GK as soon as I can. It takes days. But I don't know about the others...

But you know what the main point is... is that Sporting, unlike Porto and Benfica, has lived in cycles that are not very long. It is likely that in the 60s, for example, Porto will have fewer teams than Sporting and Benfica. But in the 90s Sporting was really the third team in Portugal. It did not have a certain appeal compared to the other two. I evaluate this at the end. The crucial point is that. I think that a few teams would have been enough but not for every season. What I fear is the classic Pandora's box as I often call it. If I open up to too many teams, there is no way out. Someone will want the Greeks, the Turks, the Romanians, the Russians, the Austrians or the Czechs for every season. This is not possible, everything becomes unmanageable.

Before including these minor league teams that nobody is interested in, it would be better to include an English second division in the classic patch. 🔥🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
