Nice Group of Life there, CONMEBOL. Well done. That doesn't look planned at all.

Venezuela still won't make it out of the group stage...
It would be hilarious if they don't, but I'm still holding out hopes for a USA - Venezuela quarterfinal.

...:D :D :D :D (What an awesome group.........we literally hit the jackpot with this one).

CONMEBOL rigged the draw to make sure we got the least favorable opponents. Nice going, Sunil. :nape:

I think Venezuela WILL advance, but that's it as a second. The group is easy and i think the team will be inspired. Of course, i'm biased to say that they will advance but really, outside Uruguay (who's our recent bitch (H) ) Bolivia is bad and Peru should not be that trouble, a win a 2 draws and we are in, is not that hard.

BTW Chavez behaved really well, although he kinda read what the Copa America trophy said in the chest :S

Still can't stand watching him for more than a couple of minutes at a time.

You just know he's going to do something ridiculous during the Copa.

hehe I cant really argue with that :) (except for the last Uruguay 4-0 Venezuela run over, and the fact that all the "small teams" in the americas usually have 4-5 years of "glory years" before going back to 100 years of getting their ass kicked:
IE: Bolivia 94
Colombia 90, 94
Chile 98
Venezuela ...sort of...now
Ecuador 02,06
Peru 78

But I bet the game vs. Venezuela will have added emotion cause of their recent wins.

But yeah, I just found out that people in Uruguay are pretty disapointed about this group (see it as an insult to our history.
Putting us in such a pathetic group, even if by draw, just feels wrong for some. (we should be there duking it out with Colombia, Argentina and Paraguay <other good nations>.

Im still glad about the draw though. (though i do understand what they feel)

Group C looks badass though (Colombia? USA? Paraguay and Argentina?: That's an awesome group).

I predict Argentina, USA and Paraguay will go through as the top 3.
Then Brazil, Mexico, Chile for Group A

Wow, Uruguay got a shopping spree in the candy store.

Has Venezuela done any work on their craptacular stadiums?

well because we have done something, copa america is in venezuela. CONMEBOL required us to do SERIOUS additions and transformations to ours stadiums if we want it to host the competition, and looks like we did.

I wonder why Peru and Bolivia always end up in the host country group..... :boohoo:

Group C is the toughest.

((Winning 70% of the cups , and being in over 80% of the finals in the oldest international competition in the world))

if thats true, people in Uruguay are idiots. i mean who gets angry when they get a ridiculously easy group?? peru and bolivia suk monkey balls (peru doesnt even have a coach, thats how much they suk) and the probabilities of losing against venezuela is 70-30 in uruguays favor. only a rediculously poor performance will keep uruguay out of the knock out stage.

hmm.......guess you misinterpreted my post. I should have put: "disapointed". (waiting 4 years to play Bolivia? Come on.)

Just got from lots of sources (IE: well, I guess pretty much the POV of Sangrila :p :funny: ) and in general people were looking forward to playing the big boys up front (and listening to opinions from a few radio channels talking about it in a: "well ...it's easy. but ...still"

Im actually happy with the group (as you can see in the post before that I said: "JACKPOT"!) but i do understand the disapointment (imagine we were to get eliminated by Chile in the 2nd round= most disapointing copa ever.

PS- Ill edit :"furious" to "disapointed" then :p
