any version works tbh. Just make sure your image is 2048x2048 and the layer is unlocked.

The solution is to open the file not in PNG but in DDS. To do this, convert from PNG to DDS and install a plugin like in video and then you can do it normally.

Any version newer than CS4 should work. Also yes, the photoshop has to be in English.

You should to use the Photoshop in english, it's quite easy to change language, just follow this tutorial. I use an old version of PS (13) and it's fine for me.
