How do you start to train the players in grey on reserves? I'm guessing they are youth players but so far I cannot figure out how to train them or get them playing in reserve matches.

to my experience, those players are all below or eaqual to 17 yrs old. they will be available when they get to 18.;)

They are untrainable by the manager. I think your assistant automatically handles them. This changes when they get promoted from the youth setup for your consideration.

I have a couple that are 18 and 19 years old, I guess they do just get promoted into reserves on their own.
