There are some crazy people who think GF1 is far better than 2. They are crazy though.

1. Schindler's List >> just saw it recentely, it's brilliant
2. 21 Grams
3. 12 Angry Men
4. The Pianist
5. Uprising >> I'm I the first one to pick a TV movie?

Also: Snatch, Mystic River, All the President's Men, Kill Bill, Sixth Sense, American History X, Saving Private Ryan, Fight Club, Memento

Hated: Star Wars, Shawshank Redemption (not hated, just overrated)TROD.
Good to see someone mentioning the awesome Schindlers list at last, I wondered when it would come up, awesome film.

I cant believe you think The Shawshank Redemption is over-rated - its the most underrated film of all time! Do you know how much it flopped at the box office when it first came out? It's only now that people are finally starting to appreciate it's brilliance.

Honourable mention to The Godfather, The Usual Suspects, The Fight Club, Desperado (Salma )
Desperado sucks ass, if it wasnt for the awesome Tarantino cameo it would be one of my least favourite films ever. The storyline is IDENTICLE to El Mariachi except hes taken out the cool quirky bits, he completely sold out his best friend by casting Banderes instead of him and the attempts at humour jsut suck so much.

Goldfinger, Goldeneye, Live and let die, Moonraker... I dunno they are all rather good but I cannot remember half of them considering I saw them all when I was about 10 years old... besides the newer three... which are just sh!t... actually die another day is not to bad... the world is not enough and tomorrow never dies are just pathetic...

I didn't care much for 'the spy who loved me' or 'the man with the golden gun'... probably because I have seen them a lot... oh yeah and 'dimonds are forever' and 'never say never again' are pretty sh!thouse aswell... Oh yeah, and 'on her majesties (sp) secret service'... I hated that...

I dunno, I have seen them all... they are nothing fantastic... they are good but not GREAT... I wonder what the new ones will be like...
New Bond films are pretty gay, they've taken the gadgets and unrealistic elements from being cool to just being stupid. The originals rock though, Goldfinger is an awesome, awesome film. From Russia with Love is damn good too, and Spy who Loved Me. We wont mention Diamonds are Forever :p

But seriously... there is a reason why it was made for TV only... :crazyboy:
Hmm, but I really liked it. So it might not have been the best movie ever but the story was really appealing. It was about the Warsaw ghetto uprising, it's emotionally appealing.

1) Pulp Fiction
2) Gladiator
3) Lord of the Rings
4) Terminator 2: Judgement Day
5) Kill Bill

i realise that there are 5 films within the lotr kill bill titles but no-one really specified which was their fav so i treated them as collective units....apologies to all hardcore list makers for my non-distinctive list

Us hardcore list makers are getting mighty pissed off with your soft ass list making :crazyboy:

Seriously though, I cant believe the people here prefer Gladiator and Terminator 2 to things like The Godfather.

Good call on the number 1 slot though.

Well, the reason things like Trainspotting, Shawshank Redemption, Mutiry on the Bounty etc arent getting so many votes isnt cos people have bad taste, it's just cos people havent seen them, and the same goes for The Godfather 2 - its damn hard to get hold of outside the trilogy box which is expensive and hardly ever shown on TV - however, I thought that pretty much everyone had seen The Godfather.

alot of people chose films that they enjoyed over films that they thought were really good....there's a difference....i really enjoyed ace ventura, whereas i thought usual suspects was a great film.........now thats not saying that i didnt think ace ventura was a good film, or that i didnt enjoy usual suspects....its just that they are both in different leagues...i chose to put the films from league 1 in MY list, others chose the enjoyable ones from the lower leagues, which is perfectly valid....it just meant that films like home alone got more votes than the godfather!!! of course no-one thinks that home alone is better than the godfather, but maybe they enjoyed watching it more.....

whats more enjoyable than watching people getting hit with irons and scalded with blow torchs, especially when they cant even swear about it??? the answer is: alot of things but between the ages of 8 and 13, home alone was the best christmas movie ever.........christmas was never really christmas till you'd seen home alone at least three times in the space of week....unlike the godfather though, its sequel didnt out do the original...the woman who cares for the birds was just pushin it

I understand the Home Alone thingy there.
plus, lots of people's favorite movies are the ones you watched as a kid, when you werent comparing cinematography, and plot twists, or even if some scenes were ripped off from other movies.
Home Alone is an excellent movie. specially if you watched it as a kid (and I agree with the christmas thingy. put the FOX channel all chirstmas week and watch Home Alone 1 and 2 all week long :p), same goes for me with The Goonies, The Neverending Story and more (Y)

I thought the part in the hotel with the TV in Home Alone 2 was hilarious.

Home Alone aren't bad comedies really, of course no one in their right mind that has a little knowledge about movies would put them as their favourite movies but they are very enjoyable especially if it's the first time you see them. I love Joe Pesci also.

Now... Home Alone 3 that's utter trash.

My favourite movie when I was a kid:

My mum bought it for me when I was a kid and I switched it off after about half an hour. I can understand what you mean though, I'll always have a soft-spot for Toy Story and I'll always curse the day my mum sat me infront of Bambi.
